Do you ever get the feeling that different sides of your personality are wrestling for control within you? Well, in Superstring's Headspun, a unique FMV/adventure hybrid due out later this year, that concept will take on a very literal interpretation.

Not every game requires loads of comedy, action, or witty dialogue. Sometimes an adventure can be laid back, quiet, and thoughtful. Indie developer Morteshka's atmospheric The Mooseman aims to provide just such an experience, arriving on consoles now after its release on PC last year.

Most adventures games are more about the journey than the destination, but that is especially true of Shifting Tides' appropriately-titled The Sojourn, a fantastical 3D puzzler coming next year.

For such a visual medium, a surprising number of games have started using blindness as a central gameplay conceit in recent years. The latest such title to do so will make sighted people happy they can see, however, as indie Italian developer Lunar Great Wall Studios has pulled back the veil on its beautiful upcoming fantasy adventure Another Sight.

They may have fallen a little short the first time around, but indie developer Suzaku found success in their second Kickstarter campaign for Sense: A Cyberpunk Ghost Story, a mix of Blade Runner-esque dystopian science fiction with a classic J-Horror ghost story.

The biggest challenge facing many superheroes doesn't actually seem to be the evil foes they encounter, but rather how best to reconcile their superpowered identities with their mild-mannered concealed personas. This is especially true for the titular star of Deedema Games's upcoming Flipping Filip.

DONTNOD is on fire! Along with the recent release of the supernatural RPG Vampyr, the E3 announcement of the psychological mystery Twin Mirror, and ongoing production on Life Is Strange 2, now the French developer has surprised us all by revealing a FREE mini-episode set in the Life Is Strange universe called The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit.

Normally E3 isn't a major source for new adventure game news, but so far already this year there have been not one but two promising announcements. Hot on the heels of Dontnod's Twin Mirror reveal comes word from the EA Play press conference of an upcoming EA Originals title called Sea of Solitude.

What Portal did with spatial gateways, indie British developer Dan Smith hopes to do with colours when his first-person 3D puzzler The Spectrum Retreat launches on PC and consoles this summer.

DONTNOD waded into young adult fiction with 2015's hit Life Is Strange, but with today's announcement of Twin Mirror, it's clear that the French developer's next adventure promises to be much more adult fare.

Vancouver is a gorgeous Canadian coastal city filled with people... but the same most definitely cannot be said about the "dystopian retrofuturistic" Vancouver of EggNut's successfully crowdfunded stealth adventure, Backbone.

Most adventures involve a lot of legwork, but in indie Swiss studio Okomotive's newly-released FAR: The Lone Sails, your steampunk-style vehicle will do most of the work... assuming you can keep it running and the path free of obstacles.

Real-time adventures are a tough thing to pull off, which is probably why we get so few of them and The Last Express continues to be so beloved two decades after its release. But now Tequila Works is hoping to break into that space with The Invisible Hours, a murder mystery whodunit designed in the style of "immersive theater."

Adventure games with amnesiac protagonists are not uncommon, but what if all of a sudden, no one at all can remember a thing? This unusual scenario is precisely the situation players will find themselves confronting in next year's release of Scarecrow Studio's 3 Minutes to Midnight.
