Many adventure games claim to be inspired by Broken Sword, but few if any can do so with as much conviction as indie German developer Radio Silence Studios, whose upcoming The Adventures of Bryan Scott not only seeks to emulate the "depth and charm" of Revolution's acclaimed classic series, but will star the voice of George Stobbart himself, Rolf Saxon, in the lead role.

Prophecies tend to foretell either the coming of great disaster or the means to salvation from said disaster. Which of those is true (or neither, or both) is entirely up to you to find out in indie developer Start Warp's fantasy adventure The Prophecy, the first part of which has just been released on Steam Early Access.

The ocean is fascinating to explore but the deeper you go, the darker and more dangerous a place it can be. Fortunately you'll have a unique ability to help you survive its perils in Spiral Circus's upcoming monochromatic adventure, Silt.

It's summertime now for many of us, but we can already begin looking ahead to Somerville next year, as indie UK developer JUMPSHIP has released new video footage of its upcoming sci-fi thriller.

The one thing you can usually be sure of in an adventure game is a familiar interface, but what if the interface adapts to reflect your progress along the way? This is the intriguing hook behind EDEN.schemata();, an upcoming sci-fi murder mystery recently unveiled for PC.

Water: the source of all life. When it comes to survival, nothing could be more important. That is as true elsewhere in the galaxy as it is here on Earth, as we'll find out soon when Avolteha arrives on mobile devices.

The cyberpunk genre often provides a uniquely dystopian glimpse into humanity’s future. Next to continue this tradition is indie Australian developer OD1N Studios’ upcoming N1NE: The Splintered Mind, a planned trilogy set in a world “torn between monopolistic conglomerates and ruthless gangs.”

We've all received a call intended for someone else that somehow made its way to our phone instead. Usually it's kind of a pain, but what if one not only turned out to be a happy accident but actually helped to save the world? In Unknown Number, by newly formed British developer godolphin games, one misdialed call is all it takes to plunge you into the deep waters of environmental activism, battling big oil and dodging the police. Here, in what is being billed as a "first person talker," your voice and your charming personality are your two main weapons, as you take calls, shout, whisper, and even sing your way to victory.

It's hard to move on in the afterlife when your whole family suddenly died under mysterious circumstances, as you'll want to linger a while and see if you can learn what happened. A little supernatural investigating is precisely what's on tap in Detective from the Crypt, a newly released point-and-click adventure from the creator of last year's Cat and Ghostly Road.

The debate about whether games are art has gone on for years, but when it comes to the "yes" position, it's titles like indie Frisian/Dutch developer Alle Jong's upcoming Sketchy Fables that should be submitted as Exhibit A.

What’s the first thing you think of when you hear the word “adventure?” Easy: paying off crushing debt, right? All right, maybe not, but there’s a first time for everything, and in The Good Life, poised to release this fall, the two ideas might just prove synonymous after all.

Making a deal with the devil invariably comes with strings attached. Fortunately for us, the strings for one unwitting artist involve overcoming a surreal series of puzzles in indie developer DP Games' newly released Summertime Madness.

Sam Barlow likes keeping secrets. That's not only true in-game, but about each new release from the creator of Her Story and Telling Lies. At long last we have the first details for IMMORTALITY, previously teased only as "Project Ambrosio," though in typical Barlow fashion, they'll probably raise more questions than they answer.

How far would you go to reunite with a loved one during a disaster scenario? That’s the question that Maya, one of the protagonists of Reptoid Games’ upcoming isometric adventure Fire Tonight, will have to face when the game is released later this summer.
