It's been a long time coming, but at long last fans of Revolution's classic dystopian cyberpunk adventure Beneath a Steel Sky can look forward to a sequel, as the acclaimed UK studio today unveiled the first details of Beyond a Steel Sky, due out later this year.

Childhood reminiscence is a wonderful thing, but how we view the events of our early years is different when we grow up than it was back in our youthful, carefree days. Indie developer Brian Wilson of Wakefield Interactive aims to explore those different perspectives in Where the Bees Make Honey, a "puzzle-adventure about reflection and nostalgia" that is due to launch shortly on PC.

Cyberpunk seems to be making a welcome resurgence in gaming these days. The latest title to delve into a dystopian future of high tech and lowly station is indie developer Insert Disk 22 – at least, they will if they're able to secure the necessary crowdfunding for Born Punk on Kickstarter.

It's a good thing planets revolve in an orbit, because we completely missed Planet RIX-13 on its first pass when it launched in 2017 on PC. Now, however, the short retro-styled sci-fi adventure has come around again, this time on all three major consoles and PlayStation Vita.

Each new announcement shines a little light on an upcoming adventure, but rarely quite so literally as in the case of indie developer Gossamer Games' upcoming Sole.

The future of point-and-click adventures looks a little more promising today thanks to the announcement of the upcoming The Blind Prophet.

One thing we know for sure about ancient and/or alien civilizations in adventure games: they certainly do love their puzzles! Good thing for us, of course, as we get to follow in their tracks and figure out how everything works. This will be the case once again in indie German developer StickyStoneStudio's upcoming Memorrha.

Nazism and occultism have long been linked, and we'll soon get to explore that theory firsthand in indie Argentinian developer Diego Cánepa's upcoming pixel art action-adventure Nine Witches: Family Disruption.

Oct

You can always count on gravity and magnetism to follow the laws of nature – at least until they don't, like in the upcoming indie Spanish first-person physics puzzler Relicta.

Oct

Normally a well-oiled machine developing creaks is a sign of wear and tear, but context matters when the machine is Amanita Design and the Creaks in question refer to the name of their next adventure.

Harvester of Dreams has been a long time coming. Starting out as German indie Christian Waadt's personal project a decade ago, it has been in active development since 2012. Episode 1, now on Steam Early Access, introduces the point-and-click steampunk adventure promising puzzles, some action sequences, and a mix of dream and reality.

Those who played last year's masterful Gorogoa got a taste of how zooming from one scene to another could lead to countless possibilities. Now indie Spanish developer DevilishGames aims to ramp up that mechanic significantly in its newly-released puzzler Path to Mnemosyne.

Things take a while to travel through space. And so it is with Elea, a new episodic spacefaring adventure from indie Bulgarian developer Kyodai, whose debut installment has now arrived in full after spending several months in Steam Early Access.

Holmes and Watson; Batman and Robin; Jake and the Fatman – world-renowned investigative pairs, all. But now a new, much furrier duo is preparing to take the stage, courtesy of indie developer Cave Monsters' upcoming debut adventure.

What's better than a new horror game from Supermassive Games? How about an anthology of new games collectively called The Dark Pictures, which has just been announced by the creator of Until Dawn.
