Hunkering down alone in a bunker may not be everyone's idea of a good time, but it can be when your confinement is filled with puzzles to solve, as is the case in the episodic debut of Glitch Games' latest first-person puzzler, All That Remains.

Clear your calendars, Telltale fans, because there's a LOT of narrative-style adventuring coming your way this year and next. Thanks to today's summer video update, we now know not one, not two, but the next three series coming down the pike, including more Batman, The Walking Dead, and The Wolf Among Us.

You have to feel for any child forced to navigate the foster care system, so Pathos is a thoroughly appropriate name for the recently-released mobile puzzler that metaphorically tackles just such a scenario.

Remember Dark City? The cult favourite sci-fi movie featured a place called Shell Beach that everyone wanted to visit but no one actually seemed able to reach. Well, Isoland may not quite be Shell Beach, but it's certainly inspired by it, and now anyone with an iOS device can book passage there.

Many sci-fi stories warn us of the dangers of advancing too far technologically, but what if society actually paid heed to such dangers – or at least, tried to? This is the intriguing backdrop to the upcoming Whispers of a Machine from indie developers Clifftop & Faravid.

The word "oxenfree" may conjure up images of carefree childhood days, but it will soon take on a more ominous tone in indie developer Night School Studio's upcoming adventure by that title.

Because of their focus on story, adventure games are uniquely suited to the retelling of historical events within the framework of interactive experience. Recent adventures like Valiant Hearts and Papers, Please have offered insights into authentic real-world events and presenting them interactively,  garnering favorable response for doing so. Hoping to tread heretofore uncovered historical ground, this fall fledgling developer iNK Stories will take us to Iran in 1979 Revolution.

We first heard about the collaboration between Telltale Games and Mojango on a new Minecraft: Story Mode adventure late last year, but until now no concrete details had emerged for an episodic series in which literally any story was possible. Now, however, the picture has started coming into focus.

A little cynicism is healthy for any adventure game fan, but indie French developer COWCAT is aiming to deliver a heaping dollop of it early next year with Demetrios: The BIG Cynical Adventure.

Fans of the point-and-click adventure Tiny Thief have a reason to be happy this holiday season, with the announcement that a spiritual successor is in the works. Titled Love You To Bits, the game is being developed by Alike Studio and Pati.io, two Spanish outfits comprised of former members of the studio responsible for Tiny Thief.

Anchors aweigh, adventure fans! A sleak new indie title named Burly Men at Sea has been sighted on the horizon. Currently in production by husband-and-wife development team Brain&Brain, the 2D point-and-click game is being billed as a "folktale about a trio of large bearded fellows on a fantastical adventure at sea," in which the player's decisions made throughout the game will have an impact on how the story unfolds.
