What happens when sandbox world-building collides with a storytelling focus? We're about to find out, as Telltale Games and Mojango are joining forces for a new episodic games series called Minecraft: Story Mode.



Adventure-loving fans of Ken Follett can rejoice twice today with the news that not only is Follett writing a new novel in his popular Kingsbridge series, but an adventure game based on his first, The Pillars of the Earth, will be developed by Daedalic Entertainment to coincide with the new book's release. Life may be strange, but what's even stranger is Square Enix's sudden attraction to adventure games. Following the release earlier this year of Murdered: Soul Suspect comes news of Life is Strange, an episodic, narrative-driven series currently in production at Dontnod Enterntainment.



As adventure gamers, we've all had those "aha!" moments where the light bulb suddenly switches on in our heads. But an indie Polish development team is taking that notion one step further: what if the light bulb is our head?!  That's the premise behind the quirky new point-and-click adventure Bulb Boy, currently raising funds through Kickstarter.



Developer Sunlight Games is bringing to light a remake of one of Sierra On-Line’s lesser-known titles, Gold Rush!. For those unfamiliar, Gold Rush! was originally released back in 1988, towards the end of Sierra’s own metaphorical gold rush of games based on their AGI engine (think King’s Quest I – III).



Her Majesty the Queen is looking to return the British Empire to its former glory by going where no empire has gone before (outer space, of course!), but she can’t do it without some help from her loyal subjects – and other adventure fans around the world.



Nina Kalenkov and Max Gruber may have run out of secret files to expose for now, but a secondary player from Puritas Cordis is stepping into her own starring role in the upcoming spin-off adventure Secret Files: Sam Peters.



If you've ever had dark thoughts about manipulating a voodoo doll, you'll get your chance later this year when Voodoo is released.



While many adventure games require puzzle-solving to unfold the storyline, a stylish new indie game called Gorogoa takes that concept one step further, as the storyline itself is folded into grid-based tiles that must be strategically manipulated.



SkyGoblin's The Journey Down has certainly taken a roundabout route to get where it is, but today the journey finally reached its destination with the release of Chapter One.



If you've been anxious for news about Skygoblin's The Journey Down, don't worry... be happy... because the indie developer has just released the first trailer for its upcoming comic adventure that's quite unlike any other.



Almost a year ago, LucasArts shocked the world with the announcement of Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition. There's no shock this year, just plenty of delight and relief as today the company officially confirmed an updated version of Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge coming this summer.
