You know all those adventure games with cute and cuddly anthropomorphic animals? Well, forget about them! The animals in the upcoming Mutagenesis: A Wasteland Odyssey are nothing like that in a post-apocalyptic adventure in which only mutated creatures have survived.

The adventure genre sure is becoming a strange place. First Life Is Strange takes us all by storm, and now indie developer Wormwood Studios aims to follow up its impressive sci-fi debut Primordia with a surreal new point-and-click adventure, Strangeland.

Alfred Hitchcock's Vertigo has long been considered one of cinema's finest masterpieces, and now it's on its way in interactive form. While we may not be getting the whole thing in a straight adaptation, today Microïds announced that Pendulo Studios will be creating a new game "loosely based" on the 1958 thriller. 

Love, whether we like to admit it or not, can challenge us and rattle our nerves, especially during stressful times in our lives. Team Gotham’s upcoming Solo, however, allows players to reflect on love in a relaxing, introspective way. An unsolved murder in a point-and-click mystery is like catnip to adventure fans – which is only fitting for Goloso Games's upcoming Inspector Waffles, a new retro-styled episodic series starring anthropomorphic cats. 

After rattling gamers' nerves with the horror adventure Enola back in 2014, now The Domaginarium is turning its sights to the fantasy genre with their upcoming release – although The Dreamlands: Aisling's Quest will not be without a little haunting atmosphere of its own along the way.

Adventure games with amnesiac protagonists are not uncommon, but what if all of a sudden, no one at all can remember a thing? This unusual scenario is precisely the situation players will find themselves confronting in next year's release of Scarecrow Studio's 3 Minutes to Midnight.
