Infinite Machine has gone bankrupt. The development company founded by former LucasArts designer Justin Chin finished their first game New Legends earlier this year, which unfortunately wasn't a big financial succes. Infinite Machine announced after the release of New Legends that it was also working on a new Sam & Max action/adventure game. It is not known what will happen with that project, though there are some hints that we shouldn't give up hope entirely just yet. Unfortunately no one at the company could be reached for comment, since its website and email addresses are already no longer working. To be continued?

GameOver has posted their review of Jazz and Faust, giving it a score of 68%. Here's a clip:But Jazz and Faust might be a little too friendly. The game’s interface tells you exactly where you can use inventory objects, and there aren’t any red herrings, so almost all the puzzles can be solved with simple trial and error. Plus, unlike the DreamCatcher adventures that have the same level of friendliness, 1C Company didn’t make the inventory objects difficult to find. So Jazz and Faust is basically a walk in the park, and it shouldn’t even take 10 hours to finish.

One might be wondering where our reviews for Syberia, Watchmaker and Jazz & Faust are. The answer is that each of them has been delayed due to circumstances beyond our influence. A computer blew up, one company sent us the wrong version for a game and a rare bug prevented us from finishing another. Our unspoiled opinion on these games will be posted here, albeit a little later. Our apologies.

GamesDomain has put up a preview of the upcoming action/adventure from LucasArts, Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb. Here's a clip:Sadly, the peak of the graphic adventure genre really only exists in the memories of old and jaded gamers, even though a good one trickles out periodically. And LucasArts, no doubt with half an eye on the success of a certain tomb-raiding heroine, released Infernal Machine in 2000, a third-person action-adventure which was moderately well received. Emperor's Tomb, due for release this winter, looks to be in the mould of the more recent games, rather than the old-school adventures of yesteryear. Such is the way of things.
