It's alarming how many human jobs have already been replaced by machines, but if the upcoming sci-fi narrative adventure The Last Worker is any indication, the situation is going to get a whole lot worse.

In many ways, the final month before succumbing to fatal illness must surely be the worst, but the far-too-young protagonist of an upcoming narrative-driven road trip adventure by Klabater and the Warsaw Film School is determined to make her final days with her son the Best Month Ever!

Circuses are meant to be fun places that bring joy to all those who visit, but for the traveling players that toil behind the scenes – especially those paraded in public as "freaks" in the early twentieth century – there can be far more tragedy than comedy involved. Never has that been truer than for the cast of Vlad Circus: Descend into Madness, an upcoming new pixel art adventure from Indiesruption, the Argentinian creators of Nine Witches: Family Disruption.

First Sherlock Holmes, now Hercule Poirot. Exploring the younger years of famous detectives seems to be all the rage these days. The former from Frogwares we've known about for quite some time, while the latter was just revealed by Microids in the form of Blazing Griffin's upcoming Agatha Christie – Hercule Poirot: The First Cases.

Indie Russian developer Sergey Noskov really wants us to walk towards the light. No, not that light, but rather his own first-person adventure by that name. Following a short freeware version in 2012 and an overhauled commercial remake on PC last year, now The Light is available on consoles as well, under the new title In Rays of the Light.

AI: The Somnium Files may not be quite as well known as Spike Chunsoft's other games like the Danganronpa and Zero Escape series, but perhaps that will start to change as the next title in the neo-noir detective franchise is due to arrive next spring in the form of nirvanA Initiative.

What’s the first thing you think of when you hear the word “adventure?” Easy: paying off crushing debt, right? All right, maybe not, but there’s a first time for everything, and in The Good Life, poised to release this fall, the two ideas might just prove synonymous after all.

Okomotive's surprise 2018 hit FAR: Lone Sails took players across an inhospitable world whose dried-up oceans left behind only the remnants of a once-thriving civilization. For an encore performance, the problem isn't a lack of water but too much water, as in FAR: Changing Tides you'll need to nurture your adapatable vessel through cataclysmic flood waters that have submerged much of what previously existed.

It's been over two years since Microids first announced its plans to collaborate with Pendulo Studios on a game loosely based on Alfred Hitchcock's Vertigo. (Of course, a lot has happened in the world since then.) At long last, however, the veil has been pulled back on the upcoming adventure, scheduled to arrive on PC and current and next-gen consoles later this year.

Solving a murder case that is seemingly wrapped up in the occult would be difficult at the best of times, let alone when one is suffering from crippling bouts of dementia. But this will be the daunting task in Thief's Shelter, an upcoming horror-themed mystery by Geo Games that is currently seeking crowdfunding through Kickstarter.

If you've ever wondered how Phoenix Wright got to be such a great lawyer (besides lots of practice through trial and error), it turns out it was all in the genes! We'll soon be able to see that for ourselves when we step into the shoes of his Victorian-era ancestor in the upcoming The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles.

Variable State made an impressive debut in 2016 with the surreal interactive drama Virginia. Now the indie British developer is back with another narrative adventure called Last Stop, which is due out on PC and consoles this summer.

If you seek proof of extraterrestrial or other-dimensional life, it's probably best not to look for it in the sky, but rather in our radio signals for secret messages encoded there. This was certainly true in Night School Studio's acclaimed 2016 narrative thriller Oxenfree, and will be once again later this year in the upcoming sequel, Lost Signals.

As much as we'd all like to stay in touch with loved ones who have passed on, if there's one thing that horror stories have taught us, is that such attempts to connect the realms of the living and the dead never turn out well. Need more proof? Look no further than indie Spanish developer JanduSoft's newly released psychological thriller, Evil Inside.

Space. Harsh, unforgiving and yet awe-inspiring, it's the final frontier, where nobody can hear you scream (with frustration). Upcoming zero-g physics puzzler Heavenly Bodies, by Australian indie developer 2pt Interactive, evokes the early days of the space race, where only those with the right stuff need apply and even the most mundane task in outer space is a deadly challenge that can "go from the sublime to the ridiculous so fast it gives you whiplash."
