You just never know what the future might have in store. Just think: right now, somewhere in the world, a person you've never met may directly be connected to your fate – and you theirs – without either of you even knowing it. Sound implausible? Not at all. At least, not in Clockwork Pepper's upcoming adventure A Peculiar Adventure On Bast.

Life in a farming town isn’t generally considered very exciting, particularly one like Mistmoon Falls, the eponymous setting of an upcoming retro-RPG-styled adventure from Portmantoga. If the thought of spending time in such a place doesn’t sound very enticing to you, don’t worry because the reason you’re here is the “freshly murdered farmer” whose killer must be found.

Saruman the White may have been defeated for good in The Lord of the Rings, but still on the prowl is the titular antagonist of Curse of Rasuman, an upcoming new comedic fantasy adventure saga from indie developer Choloco, whose series debut, The Story of Archibaldo, is currently raising funding through Kickstarter.

Spending time in an abbey may not be anyone's idea of a fun time, but it's a whole different story when it's the Mercury Abbey, the titular location of an upcoming new pixel art adventure that is currently raising funds on Kickstarter.

Full-motion video games are officially experiencing a renaissance following their premature demise in the mid- to late-nineties. No longer hindered by technological restraints, modern developers are taking full advantage of what interactive cinema can bring. One such designer is Paul Raschid, who previously directed The Complex and Five Dates and is now putting the finishing touches on a new live-action adventure called The Gallery.

Indiana who? Hoping to join the ranks of elite treasure-hunting, enemy-racing heroes like Henry Jones, Jr. and Treasure Island's Jim Hawkins is Captain Quinn, one of several playable protagonists in Chenke Games' upcoming Aboard the Adventure.

There may be no greater magnet for trouble in popular entertainment than the apprentice mage, who are determined to prove themselves despite having powers that are not yet fully developed. (And gamers are all the better for it.) The next young wannabe wizard to confront seemingly insurmountable odds is the star of the upcoming Occulto, a lovely hand-drawn point-and-click adventure by Sirio Games.

Many time travel stories are epic tales with world-saving importance, but the stakes are much more personal for the protagonist of The Kids We Were, a former mobile-exclusive narrative adventure that has now made its way to PC and Switch.

The life of a fisherman's daughter is normally a quiet and uneventful one, but nothing could be further from the truth for the young star of Leeward, a three-part point-and-click island adventure from indie two-man developer Esteras Bros that has just debuted on PC.

We're wisely told to "follow the science" these days, but this notion will take on a whole different meaning in If Fusion Were That Easy, an upcoming point-and-click adventure from Golden Coin Games that will soon be coming to Kickstarter.

Don't we all have enough foolish mortals in our lives? Heck no! At least, not the kind that indie developer Inklingwood Studios' upcoming "merry and macabre" point-and-click adventure is named after.

Manuel Schenk claims he always wanted to make a sci-fi game, but his first major project ended up being the fantasy adventure Nelson and the Magic Cauldron, followed soon after by the announcement of a sequel. With the latter now nearing completion, the indie German developer is finally revisiting his longtime ambition with Orbital Cargo Division, and has once again turned his attention to Kickstarter for funding.

While London may be the most renowned location for Victorian-era murder mysteries, other cities had their fair share of crime as well. One such place is the titular German city of Casebook 1899: The Leipzig Murders, an upcoming investigative pixel art adventure from historic crime fiction author Gregor Müller.

If at first you experience Magnus Failure, try, try again. At least, that's the plan for indie developer Sons of Welder, who have unveiled the second game in their surreal adventure series, Magnus Imago.
