Aboard the Adventure to embark in early 2023
Indiana who? Hoping to join the ranks of elite treasure-hunting, enemy-racing heroes like Henry Jones, Jr. and Treasure Island's Jim Hawkins is Captain Quinn, one of several playable protagonists in Chenke Games' upcoming Aboard the Adventure.
As with its famous inspirations, the game stars a brave if somewhat reckless hero whose goal is "defeating the sinister Professor Weaver in a race to get several ancient and mysterious artifacts that can change the fate of the world." You'll need to keep your wits about you to get past the many traps and obstacles in your path, but be prepared for "a roller coaster of thrills and action" as well in an "unabashedly pulp" story that promises "intrigue, grave robbers, fisticuffs, ninjas" and more. Though you're free to "travel the world solving puzzles at your own pace," to ultimately succeed you must "use poison darts, machetes and whatever else you have on hand to fight your way through your mission to save the world."
Fully voiced (in both English and Spanish) and presented in a charming retro pixel art style with traditional two-click mouse controls, the developer's debut title will be a "humorous adventure game (with capital ADVENTURE!)" with plenty of trouble to get into and diverse people to meet. Quinn isn't the only playable character either, as you'll also take turns controlling Miguel, the captain's "best friend and second in command – out of a crew of two" and Doc, a "brilliant academic whose high IQ is only surpassed by her adventurous spirit." Indeed, you'll soon discover that it's not just the world that needs saving, as "you'll also have to overcome your personal conflicts, help others and even solve some heart problems."
We're still a year away from setting sail with Captain Quinn and company, as Aboard the Adventure is currently scheduled to launch on Steam for Windows PC in the first quarter of 2023.
