We stopped by the Funcom booth yesterday and asked one of their PR staffers whether we will ever see a sequel to the Longest Journey. The Funcom representative smiled and simply said ' no comment'. When we pushed for more details, he said something along the lines of that they really want to do one and that we should not completely give up hope.

Developer Microids has signed a deal with DreamCatcher Interactive for the US distribution for Syberia. The deal was actually completed last morning after E3 had opened. DreamCatcher were very excited about having adding Syberia to their lineup. The game should be available in European and Canadian stores in a couple of days from now. The US release is planned for later this year.

UbiSoft has just announced Myst Online, a multiplayer version of the best-selling series. Here's some information from the press-release:Devotees of the Myst series, fans of traditional massively-multiplayer online games, and non-gamers alike are sure to be captivated by Myst Online. The game features visually stunning real-time 3D graphics, rich storylines, continually updated content and real voice communication, and traditional text chat. Myst Online will have an easy learning curve, enabling players of all skill levels and interests to experience the expansive Ages and history of Myst in a uniquely social environment.It's safe to assume that this is the title we have known for some time as Mudpie.

Last night I had the pleasure of attending a special LucasArts screening together with our friends of Mixnmojo.com. Despite some rumors that Full Throttle 2 would not be announced at E3, we actually got to see a full-blown trailer of this upcoming adventure game. Although we had some minor criticisms, I was pleased to see that Ben had made the transition to 3D quite successfully. The trailer showed some action packed bar fights, high-speed motorcycle chases as well as some other cut scene stuff. It may not be a pure adventure game, but it looked very interesting nonetheless.

LucasArts has announced that Full Throttle 2 is in production. Here's a portion of the press-release:Full Throttle, one of the most loved classic adventures from LucasArts Entertainment Company LLC, returns in a long awaited action packed sequel for next generation consoles and PC in 2003. The follow up to the award winning game from 1995 will once again feature one of LucasArts' most popular and enduring characters, the swaggering outlaw biker Ben, leader of a renegade motorcycle gang called the Polecats. The free wheeling action-adventure will offer a humorous original story, furious bare knuckle fighting, and the thrill of high speed biking.

Adventure-Treff has an interview with comic book author Benoît Sokal and international product manager of Syberia, Frederic Pons. Sokal is known in the gaming industry for his work on Amerzone.
