Best rated Adventure Games for PC page 69

Below you'll find an overview of Adventure Games that have received a very high rating based on our reviews, the list is sorted based on highest rated Adventure Game first combined with recency of the review we've done.

Rise of the Dragon  (1990)

If you like noir-style detective games, you'll probably have some fun with Rise of the Dragon, but those who play for challenging puzzles are better off looking elsewhere.

Dark Seed  (1992)

Dark Seed disappoints in both story development and gameplay, but it sports some splendid (for the time) production values and a sinister atmosphere, so horror fans might enjoy this journey inside Giger’s wicked imagination.

Phantasmagoria  (1995)

Phantasmagoria is deeply flawed, both in story and gameplay, but it was a bold experiment that spawned numerous followers, and even today manages to be frightening interactive movie in its own right.

Star Trek: 25th Anniversary  (1992)

It's an authentic experience for fans of the show, but frustrating design flaws keep 25th Anniversary from being a particularly worthwhile experience for non-Trekkers.

Art of Murder: Hunt for the Puppeteer  (2009)

For better and worse, Hunt for the Puppeteer is a simple adventure without any pretensions. It can be relaxing filler easily played with your brain off, but lacks both the quality and character to bother with otherwise.

Simon the Sorcerer 4: Chaos Happens  (2008)

Simon the Sorcerer 4 is an admirable attempt to reboot the once-popular series, but the end result fails to recapture the magic of the early entries in the series.

CSI: NY  (2008)

The game’s less-than-forthright marketing has created false expectations of a new full-fledged adventure, but after you strip those away, there’s still some decent casual entertainment to be found in the CSI: NY office.

Strong Bad’s Cool Game for Attractive People: Episode 4 - Dangeresque 3: The Criminal Projective  (2008)

The most fan-centric entry of the series so far, this ultra-easy episode feels more like a lesser product of the buddy cop genre than a parody of it, and the episode is less funny as a consequence.

Gold and Glory: The Road to El Dorado  (2000)

While it successfully recreates the spirit of the Dreamworks animation, missing plot segments and far too much hand-holding prevent The Road to El Dorado being one that all gamers should travel.

Phantasmagoria: A Puzzle of Flesh  (1996)

If you can overcome the substantial lack of actual gameplay and you’re a fan of raunchy horror movies, this game will be a lot a fun. If not, this isn’t the game for you.

Fatal Hearts  (2007)

Fatal Hearts is a unique take on the genre, but the repetition and sacrifice of story development for replay opportunity prevent it from realizing its full potential.

Ghost in the Sheet  (2007)

Several of the game’s elements demonstrate promising signs for a new developer, but a weak storyline ultimately marginalizes them in this debut effort.

Darkness Within: In Pursuit of Loath Nolder  (2007)

A promising first effort for such a small development team, but the game is marred by an impersonal, emotionally distancing plot and bad design choices.

Agatha Christie: Evil Under the Sun  (2007)

Proof that a pretty game doesn’t necessarily make for an enjoyable adventure, this one is going to be for Agatha Christie fans only -- and even then only with reservations.

Anacapri: The Dream  (2007)

The game's allure rests almost completely in the amount of exploration available, and lovely though the scenery is, it is not enough to overcome the unpolished nature of so many other elements. And with the length of the game, players will have plenty of time to ponder this fact.

Scavenger Hunter  (0)

Scavenger Hunter is certainly novel, but it just isn't fun enough to make most players want to take advantage of the much-vaunted replayability.

Sterling’s Gift  (2007)

It's certainly not a deep, ambitious gaming experience, but if you like history, enjoy exploring old houses, and don't mind a short game, Sterling's Gift may be what you are looking for on a lazy afternoon.

Eye of the Kraken  (2002)

Eye of the Kraken will be enjoyed most by people with a literary background, or those with a penchant for quirky puzzles. The game's freeware download status and relatively short length make it well worth a try.

Delaware St. John Volume 1: The Curse of Midnight Manor  (2005)

A series with potential that's just not starting out on the right foot. I'm holding my breath for the next installment.

CSI: Miami  (2004)

Mediocre offering for a series that deserves better. The poorly designed game logic, lackluster characters and frustrating pixel hunts are flaws that can’t be ignored. Only dedicated fans of the Miami-based show might find this title worth the price of admission.
