Below you'll find an overview of Adventure Games that have received a very high rating based on our reviews, the list is sorted based on highest rated Adventure Game first combined with recency of the review we've done.

Tale of a Hero  (2009)

It generally looks and sounds nice, but there’s nothing in Tale of a Hero that hasn't already been done better before. Unless you are a hardcore fantasy fan in need of a fix, you can safely leave this game alone.

Hotel  (2010)

Hotel may interest fans of dark conspiracies and ancient secrets, but there are plenty of better, similar adventures around.

CSI: Deadly Intent - The Hidden Cases (DS)  (2009)

There is no real investigation involved in these crime scenes, as CSI: Deadly Intent – The Hidden Cases does little to make you think your way through its weak stories and repetitive gameplay.

Slip Space: The Burma-Shave Analogy  (2010)

Slip Space has lots of puzzles for those who love them, but its often bewildering storyline and lack of context make this sci-fi indie adventure far more puzzling than it needed to be.

Calling  (2010)

Calling’s intriguing cell phone conceit and promising backstory get hung up in an abyss of poorly-conceived game design.

CSI: Deadly Intent  (2009)

Deadly Intent is a step back for the series, and unless you really, really like CSI or want a breezy detective game, it is best left on the shelf.

Women’s Murder Club: Games of Passion  (2009)

More "failures in execution" than "crimes of passion", the Women's Murder Club series continues to offer a unique blend of hidden object and traditional investigative gameplay, but proves a poor fit on the Nintendo DS.

Diamon Jones: Eye of the Dragon  (2009)

Whilst a small improvement over the previous Diamon Jones instalment, Eye of the Dragon’s remaining flaws still make this a quest few will wish to embark on.

Miami Law  (2009)

When a game's interactivity is scaled back to the point that it's essentially an interactive novel, the story needs to be compelling enough and the characters interesting enough to carry the game, and that's just not the case in Miami Law.

Flower, Sun and Rain  (2008)

Confusing, repetitive and just plain strange, Flower, Sun and Rain is at best an acquired taste, but mostly just too surreal for its own good.

Pahelika: Secret Legends  (2009)

Falling well short of its intended challenge of the ages, Pahelika comes off more as a limited puzzle-based diversion for an afternoon.

Sherlock Holmes: The Mystery of the Persian Carpet  (2008)

An intriguing new kind of game is afoot for Sherlock Holmes, but The Mystery of the Persian Carpet represents only a tentative, flawed first step into the field of casual adventures.

1112: Episode 01  (2008)

If nothing else, 1112: Episode 01 proves that the iPhone/iPod Touch provide a viable platform for adventure games, but until the series raises the level of puzzles and narrative to even an acceptable minimum, it’s not quite time to put away the mouse and keyboard.

The Lost City of Malathedra  (2008)

While The Lost City of Malathedra is not a bad game, we’ve seen it all before, and often better. It attempts to play on nostalgia, but this is simply a very generic game with slight production values.

Unsolved Crimes  (2008)

A test of both observation and resolve, Unsolved Crimes is an underwhelming detective mystery that most players will want to pass up.

Nikopol: Secrets of the Immortals  (2008)

Whilst it may appeal to fans of the graphic novels, Nikopol’s beautifully stylized look hides a deeply flawed game.

Belief & Betrayal  (0)

Die-hard conspiracy fans who are willing to overlook a litany of flaws might extract some enjoyment from this. Everyone else would be better off placing their faith elsewhere.

D  (1995)

While often unfairly dismissed as a survival horror, D is nevertheless an adventure for completists and older console owners only.

Next Life  (2007)

The great narrative potential is undermined by the dreadful pace, which will probably cause apathy to take hold long before the conclusion of the story.

Nancy Drew: The Deadly Secret of Olde World Park  (2007)

While the story is worthy of a Nancy Drew mystery, it's really just an excuse for the various repetitive mini-games, and since there's little sense of actually playing as Nancy, this game just isn't worth a full price purchase.
