Best rated Adventure Games for PC page 75

Below you'll find an overview of Adventure Games that have received a very high rating based on our reviews, the list is sorted based on highest rated Adventure Game first combined with recency of the review we've done.

A Stroke of Fate: Operation Valkyrie  (2011)

As the first of two parts, Operation Valkyrie is recommended (with the sound off) for World War II history enthusiasts only, and even then you may want to wait for the sequel’s release.

Relics: Dark Hours  (2011)

The only real highlight of Relics: Dark Hours is its full-motion video presentation, as many of the other elements are cursed by poor implementation.

NCIS  (2011)

While in some ways this resembles the NCIS fans known and love, it's ultimately a shallow and unsatisfying experience that fails to capitalise on the strengths of the TV show and offers little challenge as a game.

Eko: Strange New World - Episode 1  (2011)

The colourful, cartoony Eko initially showed some promise as a series debut, but it’s seriously compromised by its lack of depth, polish and ease.

Puzzle Agent 2  (2011)

Puzzle Agent 2 takes a disappointing step backward, failing to resolve key criticisms from the first instalment whilst introducing new problems of its own.

Dream Chronicles: The Book of Water  (2011)

Without either a fully fleshed-out story or substantial puzzles, The Book of Water’s beautiful series of images is just an ephemeral mirage.

Space Quest 6: Roger Wilco in the Spinal Frontier  (1995)

Though Roger Wilco fanatics may manage to find something to love here, most other players can safely skip the final entry in the Space Quest franchise.

The Tiny Bang Story  (2011)

The Tiny Bang Story looks absolutely stunning and shows glimpses of promise, but it’s ultimately overshadowed by poor story development and puzzle progression.

Police Quest 3: The Kindred  (1991)

If for some reason you have never played Police Quest 3, play it only as a completist’s resolution to the brilliant second game. If you played it and remember it fondly, move on and preserve those memories.

CSI: Fatal Conspiracy  (2010)

The cases in CSI: Fatal Conspiracy are indeed deadly – deadly boring, that is. Recommended only for those who love the show or still haven’t had enough of playing drag-and-drop with fingerprint fragments.

Uninvited  (1986)

More than two decades after release, horror buffs might still be willing to brave its deadly perils, but everyone else will find Uninvited all too uninviting.

Tale of a Hero  (2009)

It generally looks and sounds nice, but there’s nothing in Tale of a Hero that hasn't already been done better before. Unless you are a hardcore fantasy fan in need of a fix, you can safely leave this game alone.

Hotel  (2010)

Hotel may interest fans of dark conspiracies and ancient secrets, but there are plenty of better, similar adventures around.

Slip Space: The Burma-Shave Analogy  (2010)

Slip Space has lots of puzzles for those who love them, but its often bewildering storyline and lack of context make this sci-fi indie adventure far more puzzling than it needed to be.

CSI: Deadly Intent  (2009)

Deadly Intent is a step back for the series, and unless you really, really like CSI or want a breezy detective game, it is best left on the shelf.

Diamon Jones: Eye of the Dragon  (2009)

Whilst a small improvement over the previous Diamon Jones instalment, Eye of the Dragon’s remaining flaws still make this a quest few will wish to embark on.

Pahelika: Secret Legends  (2009)

Falling well short of its intended challenge of the ages, Pahelika comes off more as a limited puzzle-based diversion for an afternoon.

Sherlock Holmes: The Mystery of the Persian Carpet  (2008)

An intriguing new kind of game is afoot for Sherlock Holmes, but The Mystery of the Persian Carpet represents only a tentative, flawed first step into the field of casual adventures.

The Lost City of Malathedra  (2008)

While The Lost City of Malathedra is not a bad game, we’ve seen it all before, and often better. It attempts to play on nostalgia, but this is simply a very generic game with slight production values.

Nikopol: Secrets of the Immortals  (2008)

Whilst it may appeal to fans of the graphic novels, Nikopol’s beautifully stylized look hides a deeply flawed game.
