Best rated Adventure Games for PC page 57

Below you'll find an overview of Adventure Games that have received a very high rating based on our reviews, the list is sorted based on highest rated Adventure Game first combined with recency of the review we've done.

Clover: A Curious Tale  (2009)

This kind of side-scrolling adventure is an acquired taste certainly, and the gameplay can become tedious at times, but Clover is a welcome nostalgic throwback to its retro roots.

A Tale of Two Cities  (2010)

This interactive adaptation of A Tale of Two Cities is definitely Dickens and a unique way to experience a classic, though it’s not nearly as good as the book.

Doctor Who: The Adventure Games - Episode Two: Blood of the Cybermen  (2010)

Some of the fun is drained by lacklustre puzzles and dull exploration at times, but Blood of the Cybermen is an improvement over the first episode thanks to a surprise-filled plot and greater gameplay variation.

Nancy Drew: Trail of the Twister  (2010)

Instead of chasing tornados in Trail of the Twister, Nancy spends most of her time running errands, but they do present a nice variety of challenges. Too bad most of the mystery got sucked away in the process.

Dark Tales: Edgar Allan Poe’s Murders in the Rue Morgue  (2010)

While its lite gameplay can be a fun way to explore beautiful fin de siècle Paris for an afternoon, if you’re looking for some real detective work, you may want to pass on by Rue Morgue.

Freddi Fish and the Case of the Missing Kelp Seeds  (1995)

The first Freddi Fish isn’t as strong a debut as its older age counterparts, failing to fully capitalise on its underwater setting, though there’s some fun to be found by the young ones a single time through.

Blue Toad Murder Files: The Mysteries of Little Riddle  (2010)

If you loved the first half of the Blue Toad Murder Files, you should enjoy the second half as well, though the short new episodes start to feel a little like exactly the same game with the novelty worn off.

Blue Toad Murder Files: Episode 4 - Death from Above  (2010)

If you loved the first half of the Blue Toad Murder Files, you should enjoy the second half as well, though the short new episodes start to feel a little like exactly the same game with the novelty worn off.

Blue Toad Murder Files: Episode 5 - The Riddles of the Past  (2010)

If you loved the first half of the Blue Toad Murder Files, you should enjoy the second half as well, though the short new episodes start to feel a little like exactly the same game with the novelty worn off.

Blue Toad Murder Files: Episode 6 - Flight of the Felonious Fugitive  (2010)

If you loved the first half of the Blue Toad Murder Files, you should enjoy the second half as well, though the short new episodes start to feel a little like exactly the same game with the novelty worn off.

Hamlet  (2010)

It’s short, sometimes too simple, and more Samorost than Shakespeare, but Hamlet provides a nice mix of environmental obstacles for a few hours of puzzling fun.

Anka  (2009)

A light children’s adventure that older gamers may also enjoy, Anka mixes traditional puzzles with minigames and other challenges to create an entertaining but limited experience.

Green Moon  (2009)

As an inventory-based, puzzle-centric adventure, Green Moon can be a fun little diversion, but it doesn’t provide much narrative substance to round out the experience.

The Divine Comedy  (2009)

Whilst an impressive artistic achievement, The Divine Comedy often feels too much ‘the book’ and not enough ‘the game’.

Treasure Island  (2009)

Treasure Island isn’t as good as the source material that inspired it, but offers enough pleasant discoveries that pirate fans should find worth the journey.

Space Quest IV: Roger Wilco and the Time Rippers  (1991)

Space Quest IV represents a technological leap forward that is sadly burdened with a stand-still game design. Often frustrating and overly difficult, it still contains enough humor and charm to keep players from too easily tearing themselves away.

EcoQuest 2: Lost Secret of the Rainforest  (1993)

Less enjoyable than its predecessor, EcoQuest 2 is still a good edutainment title for children and a fair choice for adventurers in search of a less demanding adventure.

Dream Chronicles 2: The Eternal Maze  (2008)

A noticeable improvement over the original, Dream Chronicles 2 nevertheless retains a few too many common adventure-like problems to fulfill its evident potential.

The Fall Trilogy: Chapter 1 - Separation  (2009)

If you dislike hidden object activities, you may be disappointed by Separation, but for those who don’t mind some casual game elements, the quality puzzles and setting make for an otherwise enjoyable experience.

Quest for Glory V: Dragon Fire  (1998)

The fifth Quest for Glory has some questionable design issues, but it’s still a decent title with enough entertaining elements to enjoy a Hero’s final quest.

Avenue Flo  (2009)

Avenue Flo is a simple but charming little casual adventure experience, though it may be too "lite" to suit anyone's tastes ideally.

Tales of Monkey Island: Chapter 4 – The Trial and Execution of Guybrush Threepwood  (2009)

The fourth chapter is an episode you’re sure to have an opinion about—and equally sure to spend some time stumped in—but it’s ultimately no more than a good, not great, adventure game with a bang-up cliffhanger.

Adam’s Venture: Episode 1 - The Search for the Lost Garden  (2009)

The very brief Adam’s Venture has a nice, shiny exterior, and actually feels adventurous in its physicality, but everything else is the very definition of “just okay”.
