In Space Quest I, you play as Roger Wilco, a janitor aboard the spaceship
Arcada. One minute, he is sleeping peacefully in a broom closet aboard the
Arcada, and then suddenly aliens take over the ship, steal the very important
star generator and kill every human on board. Wilco first has to get off the
Arcada before it explodes, and then must travel through a desert to the
spaceship Deltaur, where the vicious Sludge Vohaul is waiting for him.
The game starts in the hall on the Arcada. Walk west three times. Wait until
the man enters the room. LOOK MAN. LOOK MONITOR. Enter ASTRAL BODIES. Wait
until the machine gets the data cartridge and then GET CART. Walk west twice.
SEARCH MAN to see a keycard. GET KEYCARD. Walk east and enter the right
elevator. Enter the next elevator. Walk east. Approach the control panel and
PUSH OPEN BAY DOOR button. Walk east. PUT KEYCARD IN SLOT. Enter the elevator.
Walk to the control panel and PUSH AIRLOCK BUTTON. Walk to the two buttons on
the wall and PUSH LEFT BUTTON. PUSH RIGHT BUTTON. GET GADGET and GET SUIT. Walk
west. PUSH PLATFORM BUTTON. Walk to the left side of the pod and ENTER POD.
CLOSE DOOR. FASTEN SEATBELT. PUSH POWER BUTTON. PULL LEVER. PUSH AUTONAV.
UNFASTEN BELT. GET KIT. GET OUT OF SHIP. Walk to the front of the ship and GET
GLASS on the sand. Walk east three times to see a path leading up. Follow this
path until you cross the bridge. Stop behind the rock on the other side of the
bridge and wait there until a spider droid appears in the area. It may take a
while. Type PUSH ROCK but don't press return just yet. SAVE the game and wait
until the spider droid is about to walk between the two green plants below. As
soon as it does, PUSH ROCK to destroy the droid. If you missed, just restore
the game and try again until the rock lands on the droid. Keep following the
path to the area with the broken arch. Walk through the middle of the arch to
descend on a secret platform to a cave.
GET ROCK. Walk west to the grating room. Walk along the top of the grating to
avoid the monster below. PUT ROCK IN GEYSER. Walk north. Go to the back of the
room and then go west to the next room. Approach the laser beams and HOLD GLASS
IN BEAM. Follow the path to the next room. SAVE the game and walk carefully
past the acid drops. TURN DIAL ON GADGET and walk east to the room with the big
head. It says that Roger has to destroy a beast called Orat that is living on
the surface. Roger returns to the surface.
Follow the path down to the bottom. Walk north to see the cave entrance. OPEN
KIT. Type THROW WATER but don't press return. SAVE and then walk east into the
cave. Enter the THROW WATER command and Orat will be blown to pieces. Walk over
to the Orat part and GET PART. Walk west and south, then follow the path back
up to the broken arch. Ride the platform down to the cave again and follow the
cave through to the room with the big head. DROP PART and a door will open.
Walk north. PUT CART IN SLOT to see the password 6858. GET CART. GET IN
SKIMMER. SAVE the game. TURN KEY. Avoid the various rocks by moving left or
right and SAVE whenever you get to a safe area.
GET KEY. GET OUT OF SKIMMER. Ignore the man that asks if he can buy the skimmer
for 30 buckazoids. Enter the bar and then leave the bar. The man approaches
with the offer of 30 buckazoids and a jetpack. Say YES. Enter the bar. BUY BEER
and DRINK BEER three times. After the third beer, two people will mention
sector HH. Walk over to the arcade machine to start playing it. Play the arcade
game until you have 250 buckazoids. The machine breaks at this point. Exit the
bar. Walk north and east. Enter Droids-B-Us. Walk upstairs to the white robot
and BUY ROBOT. Exit the shop. Walk south, west twice and north. BUY SHIP. CLIMB
LADDER. PUSH BUTTON and enter HH when the droid asks what sector to fly to.
WEAR JETPACK. GET OUT OF SHIP. Float over to the door and OPEN DOOR. Go through
the doorway to arrive in a room with a locked door. Wait until the droid exits
the door and then quickly go through before the door closes. OPEN CHEST and GET
IN CHEST to be carried to another room. OPEN CHEST. OPEN WASHING MACHINE. GET
IN WASHING MACHINE to change into the Sarien uniform. OPEN WASHING MACHINE.
Walk east. TALK GUARD until he asks if Roger has played King's Quest III.
Answer YES to get 5 points. KISS GUARD. Enter the left elevator. Walk west and
enter the next elevator. Walk east three times. LOOK SUIT to find the ID.
Walk over to the counter and SHOW the ID to the robot. When the robot leaves
the room, quickly walk to the bottom of the counter and GET GRENADE. Walk back
to the robot when he returns and he will give Roger a pulseray. Walk west. Move
above the guard and DROP GRENADE. Walk east. SHOW ID to the robot again and GET
GRENADE. Walk west three times and Wilco will fall out of his suit. SAVE the
game. Fire the pulseray whenever a guard appears by pressing F6. Enter the
elevator. Walk east twice. SEARCH GUARD. PUSH BUTTON. Walk to the star
generator and LOOK PANEL. Enter 6858 by using the buttons, then press the enter
button (on the panel). Walk west. Enter the elevator. Enter the right elevator.
Walk over to the ship ENTER SHIP. PUSH BUTTON to complete the game.

The machine gets the data cartridge in the Arcada. It is used in the slot of
the data cartridge console in Kerona.
Found in the left locker in the room before the airlock in the Arcada. It is
used to understand the language of the big head.
Found outside the ship after landing on Kerona. It is used to pass the beams
in the cave on Kerona.
Found near the robot on Deltaur. It is dropped on the guard.
Found on the man two screens west of the data cartridge console in the
Arcada. It is used in the slot of the elevator.
