I don’t buy games that push that type of business model…nor have I had any interest in the games that do mind.
Guess I’m lucky in that regard, but I can see how others who do struggle with the question of buying into it.

Forgot about TF2, at least it was when the game went F2P, it was also the time I stop playing it…

I’m not too surprised to hear Swery struggle. It’s a big ask and although a lot of people like him, that’s not the same as enjoying everything he puts out. I thought the idea was interesting myself, but then he added the cat element which just seems kind of silly. I think it would have been better to keep it an adventure like game where going out at different times could trigger different events . Bit like Zelda Majora’s Mask or something.

Didn’t Ass creed unity also have some controversy with loot boxes. Man, the AAA game industry is becoming really crappy with all these micro txns on top of a 60$ game.
Edit: Haven’t played the new Ass Creeds but this guy says it’s nothing new:
“Since ac4 there have been “helix credits ” or whatever offered as speed boost, I’ve never bought any and they haven’t effected my enjoyment of ac in any way. Hopefully that remains true.”
Maybe wilco can shed some light on that
