A+‘s on all first world levels except for one due to an apparent glitch.
Two A+‘s on world 2 so far.
Cuphead is amazing but relentless.
Didn’t want to spoil myself, but I’ve took a quick look at Cuphead on youtube and it does look rather good. I don’t usually care much for platformers, but this and Sonic Mania seems to be winning me over to them at the moment.

Be warned though it is not much of a platformer. 75% of the game is boss battles.
The game has some run and gun levels. But let me tell you….it’s awesome. The boss battles play out like levels with bosses having numerous phases and they are all very different with you having to figure out their patterns(feels like puzzles sometimes).
The game plays out fast and frantic which really matches the theme of 30’s cartoon and its music. It’s really a unique experience.
The run and gun levels are all also very different. Game offers a lot of variety and is very detailed.
Initially I was disappointed they didn’t make an adventure platformer, but honestly a game has been rarely this addicting. You will die a lot but I have yet to become frustrated by it.
And did I mention the soundtrack is one of the best?
I didn’t play much yet (3 bosses and a run ang gun level) but I agree, Cuphead is great, game is hard but fair since it’s about recognizing patterns and every time you die you can see what went wrong and just want to get back to it.
The run and gun levels seem more Metal Slug than platformer.
The visual detail of the character animations and backgrounds are incredible.

I think people are finding it hard because they are not regular to shmups or bullet hell genre
All the recent releases are much harder, and lets not talk about insane bullet hell games
More over you can cheese cuphead with powers like smoke dodge or homing bullets which have a fairly low price

Others forcing themselves into shmups for that, make it into Anime Moe shooter with same hard work and decrease 90% sales 
Its some talent indeed, some later boss fights are jawdropping
