Well, there really isn’t that many long running series made in Sweden, but the Cure -> Remedy thing was quite clever, though I only got it in hindsight.

New one:

The game is based on a long running series of books, but is not a game adaptation of any single book in the series.

This game has you escaping from rampaging robots. Knowledge of a few medical topics can aid you.

Yikes, I almost forgot which game I was referring to. Confused

Not Return to Mysterious Island, but you’re not that far off in terms of release date, and it’s made by a European company as well.

It’s more of an edutainment title than RtMI, though.

Ok, not much inspiration, so how about…

It all started with a battle you’re not supposed to be in.
Escape the dungeon, use a potion, get a magic stone (you know, the usual Laughing )  there’s even a dragon (which will eventually help you) and finally defeat the evil that invaded this land.
Crazy

Some elements are reminiscent of King’s Quest VII: The Princeless Bride.

I was waiting for a KQ guess. Wink and you’re close with the release year!

But no, it’s not a Sierra game.
