Place that… uh, game
Blade Runner? I think it was based in a novel….
Does “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?” have over 50 movie and TV versions?

The game in question doesn’t have sequels, LK (there’re only other adventure game adaptations of the book by the different developers)

Ah! I think it’s Frankenstein: Through the Eyes of the Monster.

That’s a good guess (and there’s a certain connection to that game), but I don’t think there’re 3 (not counting IF’s and casuals) adventure games based on Frankeinstein. (I suck at phrasing my clues, I know )

Okay. Let’s see if I can finally get this straight. The game in question is a stand-alone game with no sequel, but there are at least 3 other adv. games with a similar theme. The main characters that appear in the game are the same as those in a novel but the story is different. There are 50 movies and tv shows with the same theme.
I don’t think there are that many movies about the lost Dutchman’s mine, so I guess that rules out Al Emmo. I’m out of ideas.
Edit: How about something Lovecraftian, such as Call of Cthulhu: Shadow of the Comet?

Thanks for the recap, LK (but it’s not Call of Cthulhu either ). So:
- The game in question is a stand-alone game with no sequel, but there are at least 2 other adv. games with a similar theme.
- The main characters (the antagonist and a protagonist) that appear in the game are the same as those in a novel but the story is different.
- There are 50 movies and tv shows with the same theme.
- The name of the game is not the same as the book (with no official sequels) it’s based upon.
- It’s not Sherlock Holmes, Poirot, Jules Verne, Alice in Wonderland, Dracula, Frankeinstein, Call of Cthulhu nor the Holy Bible.
Whew…

Return of the Phantom? Or Hook?
Jekyll & Hyde doesn’t have a sequel and only has one adventure game that I know of, so that’s not it.
The Hobbit didn’t have 50+ movie/TV adaptations.
I don’t think any of Shakespeare’s works had sequels.
The Odyssey is sort of a sequel to the Iliad, but I don’t know of any adventure games about it.
The only Three Musketeers game I can think of is Touché.
Was Robin Hood based on a book or on folklore ballads? And are there more games than Conquests of the Longbow?
I’m stumped. Should we even be thinking of classic books???
I feel like the answer is staring me in the face and I’m looking everywhere but directly at it…
Sorta like this:
The truth can’t hurt you, it’s just like the dark: it scares you witless but in time you see things clear and stark. - Elvis Costello
Maybe this time I can be strong, but since I know who I am, I’m probably wrong. Maybe this time I can go far, but thinking about where I’ve been ain’t helping me start. - Michael Kiwanuka
Still not there. Tim, neither book nor the game have official sequels. (When I corrected you about Alice in Wonderland and Sherlock Holmes I actually assumed both had their sequels - Through the Looking-Glass and various Sherlock novels)
I’ll try some more hints a bit later.

Is it “Mummy- Tomb of the Pharaoh”?
Warning- People won’t have as much of a sense of humor about you putting an Alka Seltzer in your mouth then staggering into a restaurant while shouting “THE VIRUS HAS MUTATED!” as you’d hope they would.
Consider this: People say “Ewwww!!!” when they hear about a guy having a hairy bum or hairy back, yet every Teddy Bear ever made has had both a hairy bum AND a hairy back and nobody complains about them; In fact, people think Teddy Bears are adorable.
Nah.
The actor who played the “antagonist” in one of those movies, is in some way connected to the adventure game mentioned in one of your guesses.
