Secret Files 2: Puritas Cordis  (2009)

Secret Files 2 is a highly-polished, enjoyable sequel that’s better than its Tunguskan predecessor in several key ways.

Secret Files: Tunguska (DS)  (0)

A great handheld port of an already enjoyable game, Secret Files: Tunguska is an engaging rollercoaster of an adventure if you can overlook some questionable puzzle design.

3 Cards to Midnight  (2009)

If you are a fan of story-driven games, dark mysteries and psychological tales (and don’t mind a more casual style of gameplay), you won’t need a Tarot card to know that 3 Cards to Midnight is the right game for you.

Gobliiins 4  (2009)

As charming as it is bizarre, Gobliiins 4 is a quality throwback to the beloved twisted humor and weird puzzles of the original games, and one of the most likeable titles this year.

EcoQuest: The Search for Cetus  (1991)

EcoQuest is a rare example of well-done edutainment: it’s a pleasure to play and does a great job in creating awareness of environmental issues. Suitable not only for children but also for adventurers in need of a more relaxing gaming experience.

Runaway 2: The Dream of the Turtle (DS)  (2008)

Among ports of adventure games for the DS, it’s hard to find much fault with this one. Dream of the Turtle is clearly influenced by classic comic adventures of old, but shows enough personality of its own to make this a genuinely fun and worthwhile game.

Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Adventures: Episode 1 - Fright of the Bumblebees  (2009)

For the Wallace & Gromit superfans, this should be a no-brainer, day one purchase. For everyone else, it’s another well-polished episodic adventure of the sort we’ve come to expect from Telltale, and even if you’re not familiar with the source material, it’s definitely worth your time.

Ceville  (2009)

Sometimes it's good to be bad, and Ceville is just such an occasion, with plenty of fun and enough light comedy for gamers of most ages.

Casebook: Episode II - The Watcher  (2009)

A significant improvement over the first episode both in terms of story and gameplay, The Watcher is a must-play for mystery buffs, fans of noir/crime adventures and FMV nostalgics.

Sam & Max: Season One  (2007)

The long-awaited and largely enjoyable series revival of Sam & Max gets a solid port on Nintendo Wii, though not without a few minor issues.

Emerald City Confidential  (2009)

If ultra-challenging puzzles are your thing, you might be disappointed, but if you’re all about the story and characters, you should book a trip on the next available cyclone to beautiful (and dangerous) Emerald City.

Nancy Drew Dossier: Lights, Camera, Curses!  (2008)

Nancy Drew’s first Dossier case is a radical departure from her main mystery series, but it’s a fun, refreshing casual adventure experience.

Nostradamus: The Last Prophecy  (2007)

Another enjoyable trip to the past by Kheops, with a fascinating look at Nostradamus and an intriguing murder mystery to investigate.

So Blonde  (2008)

Like its protagonist, there is more to So Blonde than meets the eye. Whilst some tiresome nuisances prevent the game from realizing its full potential, it’s a very enjoyable adventure that deserves to be played.

Time Hollow  (2008)

In spite of some missed gameplay opportunities, Time Hollow is still one of the most intriguing and well-crafted DS adventure games out there.

Dracula 3: The Path of the Dragon  (2009)

Dracula 3 is a solid adventure with an intriguing mix of legend and fact, but there’s more science and history than garlic and stakes.
