[Archived] Time for a new community playthrough?
Hi All,
I’d join in with any of the following: -
J.U.L.I.A. Among the Stars
Scratches
Blade Runner
Cheers
Nod
So many good games!
I’d also vote for:
Syberia 2
J.U.L.I.A. Among the Stars
Scratches
The Experiment
Sam & Max: The Devil’s Playhouse
Grim Fandango Remastered
Since no one else has promoted J.U.L.I.A. then let me do so:
J.U.L.I.A. Among the Stars
Sort of a mix between The Dig, 2001: A Space Odyssey and Alien (perhaps)!
You wake up from cryo-sleep only to discover that the rest of the crew are gone and you are all alone on a spaceship in a foreign solar system far from earth. Alone except for J.U.L.I.A. the ships A.I. of course!
You have to explore the planets in the system, remotely using a drone, to learn what has happened to the rest of the crew, why you weren’t awoken with the rest and ...
You have to play the game, to find out why you are playing the game! - eXistenZ
When does the playthrough start?
I won’t have time to play anything until around the middle of May, so I don’t want to vote unless the playthrough starts after that. That totally depends on the leader of each game. He/she will start the AGCP whenever feels ready. It usually takes no more than a week after the final voting results to start the appropriate thread and no more than 10 days to start.
If it’s 17 days from now, I could probably catch up within a week.
My top choice is…
J.U.L.I.A.: Among the Stars
I think I’ll just vote for the one game this time, though several of the others look interesting.
Syberia 2 is only 1 vote behind the leader! I’ve got my fingers crossed!
I enjoy playing adventure games on my Alienware M17 r4 and my Nintendo Switch OLED.

Lots of fight still going on!! J.U.L.I.A. managed to take a small lead of 2 votes ahead of The Night of the Rabbit, Syberia 2 and Scratches. The Secrets of DaVinci, Overclocked, Murder in the Abbey and Blade Runner follow with 5 votes each.
If you haven’t bought on BFG for a while, you probably should know they’ve introduced a Steam-like client for installing and playing games. I’m avoiding them, like I do with Steam.
I have bought quite a bit on BFG recently. (Although no “large” adventures such as S2 or Secrets of Da Vinci.)
I did notice a change in the Game Manager client, but have had no issues. Fingers crossed.
For whom the games toll,
they toll for thee.
Is Steam the only place you can buy J.U.L.I.A.
I am honestly starting to get irritated by Valve especially after this:

CBE software (the creators of the game)sells it and you can get it here:

Edited to add; oh no you can’t since the beginning of this year sorry about that.
Life is what it is.

Thanks for sharing that. It’s weird I go to that website, and all the prices are $0 and I can’t add anything to the cart.

As I added SoccerDude CBE no longer sell their own game and it is only available via Steam. If you read Jan Kavan’s blurb on that page he explains how the various rates of VAT around the world make it impossible for them to sell directly which is a shame. I’m glad I was a backer as I won’t go near Steam either and I would have hated to miss out on the reworked game having been impressed (with a couple of caveats) with the original.
Life is what it is.
Ohh, I am cool, very cool .. yeah! i mean, I* AM…Ahem* ...really!?
but the question that is wandering through my survived brained cells so badly now; is how much of those* voted for JULIA, are really dedicated to/for this playthrough (when it takes place and ...time)
i am downloading Jodie or Julia, fair and square.
P.S: TNoTR came 2nd or third through the last 3-4 CPT voting, i think if it’s even* was J.W.Bush it would have won already .. Sorry guys.. but i just see notr as the perfect game (not just for what it is) for a community playing it together… and please accept my apologizes if i was carried away with my previous words (at the top of the post), and NO disrespect for any choices made by anyone at all!!
Well, I posted that I wanted to play it, but couldn’t nominate it because I couldn’t lead it. Sefir posted it without a leader. Lots of people voted for it. And now IZ has volunteered to lead it. So, my guess is that everyone who was involved in JULIA’s moving to the top of the list will play it if it wins. I know I will….even if it means that I have to buy the game from Steam.
BTW, I voted for the Rabbit as well.
For whom the games toll,
they toll for thee.
I donated to J.U.L.I.A. and got a DRM-free download, so no need for me to resort to Steam.

No new votes since yesterday. J.U.L.I.A. continues to lead 2 votes ahead. The Night of the Rabbit, Syberia 2 and Scratches follow. Will 8 votes (a low number IMHO) be enough for the win?
