Underrated Adventure:
Freddie Pharkas: Frontier Pharmacist, which is actually a pretty fun game, despite it rarely getting mentioned here. I rather enjoyed this game, and one of its chapter titles (“The plot sickens!”) has since become part of my daily vocabulary. Tongue

Absolutely! I had completely forgotten about that one, but now that you mention it, Freddie Pharkas is actually my Sierra Favourite, and is underrated indeed.

Duckman: Can you believe it? Five hundred bucks for a parking ticket?
Cornfed Pig: You parked in a handicapped zone.
Duckman: Who cares? Nobody parks there anyway, except for the people who are supposed to park there and, hell, I can outrun them anytime.

Best/fav Designer/Developers:
Jane Jensen

Best/fav Adventure:
Gabriel Knight 1 - The original and the best.

Best/fav Series:
Gabriel Knight

Best/fav Hero:
Gabriel Knight

First ever played Adventure:
Probably Leisure Suit Larry or Space Quest 1.

Last Played or Replayed Adventure:
Gabriel Knight 2 - The only Sierra game in the Top 10 list on Adventure Gamers.

Most Replayed Adventure:
There are not many Sierra games I have replayed, but probably Gabriel Knight.

Overrated Adventure:
Probably anything with Quest in the title. Most of them are fine, but none of them set my world on fire.

Underrated Adventure:
Laura Bow 2 - Both of the Bow games are great, but Dagger of Amon Ra is fantastic.

Name an Adventure that came after 1999 that felt Like Sierra:
SIlver Lining

An adventure game is nothing more than a good story set with engaging puzzles that fit seamlessly in with the story and the characters, and looks and sounds beautiful.

Like I said I can play the KQ games, but I was never the biggest fan.

I was always a Lucasarts, more than a Sierra fan.

GK was the best thing they put out.

My Sierra’s ...

Best/fav Designer/Developer
I would have to say Lori and Cori Cole.  These two make amazing games, and I’m looking forward to their new Hero-U series (provided they get their funding goal).
Best/fav Adventure
Quest for Glory II: Trial By Fire
Best/fav Series
Quest for Glory
Best/fav Hero
My favourite hero is Roger Wilco from the Space Quest series.  I chose him over the hero from Quest for Glory because, while I loved being able to create that hero for myself, Roger is my favourite of the heroes that Sierra created.
First ever played Adventure
I believe it was Space Quest: The Sarien Encounter.
Last Played or (re) Adventure
King’s Quest VII
Most Replayed Adventure
Quest for Glory II: Trial By Fire
Best Text-Phaser Adventure
I will say Hero’s Quest: So You Want To Be A Hero?.  I had so much more fun on this game than with the previous text-parsers, and it is a very charming game.  And, of course, “razzle dazzle root beer” gave me my first glimpse into Sierra’s game development.
Worst/Frustrating/Obscure Adventure
I always had trouble with Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards, but I was very young.  I always ran out of cash early.
Overrated Adventure
As much as I love the Quest for Glory series, and with all due respect to the Coles, I would have to say Quest for Glory IV: Shadows of Darkness.  Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love this game, but I’ve always preferred I, II, and III.
I would also say that the Gabriel Knight series is a bit overrated, but I’ve never really played them much.  This is probably because they came out later, around the time that I was entering high school, when gaming wasn’t as much a priority.
Underrated Adventure
Quest for Glory III: Wages of War is a fantastic game, and I think that it gets lost among all of the other great titles in the series.

and last:
Name an Adventure came after 1999 that felt Like Sierra.

I recently played the Demo for Quest for Infamy, and I would have to say that it captures the feeling of the old Sierra games (particularly the Quest for Glory series).  I expect that the full game will deliver on this.

It may seem that I am primarily a fan of the QfG games, but I’m actually a fan of a lot of Sierra games.  Other favourites include:

Space Quest II: Vohaul’s Revenge
King’s Quest V: Absence Makes the Heart Go Yonder!
King’s Quest VI: Heir Today, Gone Tomorrow
Leisure Suit Larry VI: Shape Up or Slip Out!

Great topic!  I always preferred Sierra games to others from that time.

You know what, I think you’re right, on both counts. QFGIV is the only one which gets mentioned and while it’s very good, it’s not necessarily better enough than I, II and III to merit getting all the recognition.

Best/fav Designer/Developer:
Roberta Williams very closely followed by Al Lowe.

Best/fav Adventure:
A tie between Phantasmagoria and Leisure Suit Larry 7: Love for Sail

Best/fav Series:
Leisure Suit Larry

Best/fav Hero:
Larry Laffer

First ever played Adventure:
Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards

Last Played or (re) Adventure:
Gabriel Knight 3, if i remember correctly (which i properly dont Smile)

Most Replayed Adventure:
None - For some reason i have never replayed any Sierra games Smile
Truth be told: I rarely replay games at all, I think Grim Fandango, The Longest Journey and Diskworld Noir are the only 3 games i have ever replayed.

Best Text-Parser Adventure:
None - Since English is not my first language, I absolutely hate text parsers. I didn’t really “got into” adventure games before the point&click; interface was invented.

Worst/Frustrating/Obscure Adventure:
I have to get back on this one, Kings Quest 8 is one of the candidates, but not the only one.

Overrated Adventure:
Gabriel Knight 2: The Beast Within - Not a bad game, but the worst in the GK series (imo), and certainly overrated by many.

Underrated Adventure:
Rama - I quite enjoyed this game, but apparently not that many did.

Name an Adventure came after 1999 that felt Like Sierra:
Gray Matter is the most obvious one, it certainly reminded me of the GK series.

Does anyone know of a good source for release date information for the Sierra games? I am trying to figure out not only the year but also the month (and possibly the day) that each Sierra adventure game came out. I know Wikipedia has the month for some of the titles, but they’re missing it for many others. I am trying to figure out the exact order that the games were released in so that I can present my reviews for them in chronological order.

I don’t see the month on Sierra Gamers. For example, Police Quest I says it was released on “xx-xx-1987.” The Sierra Vault list might be useful for the info on the different versions. But again, no month.

Thanks for trying to help though.

i didnt just try, i helped !.. Smile
but dont give up thou you still have the chance to blame Ken for the lack of details there,
you will find his contact at the upper left column .

anyways
here is the worldwide release date of PQ1 [October 28 1987]
you can always/also try the 3rd link (Pagoda) and follow the Game’s Review links for some several adventure gaming sites there, and you would find all you want, but with some little patience .

Oh, I see they have the release date for PQ1 here on AG (and for a few of the other games). Thanks for pointing that out. I’m going to keep looking around. I already have the months for about half of the games.

Edit: Found a good list here.
