The Vanishing of Ethan Carter
A new forum member arrives and instead of trying to welcome it to the community (as TimovieMan tried), it took us less than 2 screens of comments to make him/her feel uncomfortable for the most stupid reason existed. Congratulations.
Oh God… Fien gets reprimanded again by our self-appointed moderator Sefir.
Now playing: ——-
Recently finished: don’t remember
Up next: Eh…
Looking forward to: Ithaka of the Clouds; The Last Crown; all the kickstarter adventure games I supported

Nah…I was careful enough not to reprimand anyone by name. I just did my duty as a humble member of the forum to point out everyone’s responsibility towards the new members. You are welcome.
Okay, so I’ve removed my response to the above post of our selfappointed moderator. Not that it makes any difference, everybody already knows I’m evil.

Hey! I like evil!
This game looks interesting, and I’ll definitely want to give it a try. It looks like it’ll be visually appealing, and the genre sounds like the sort of thing I enjoy.
That said, just from what I’ve read and seen so far, I’m not totally sure what makes it an “evolution” as compared to… say… what Jonathan Boakes or Agustín Cordes have been doing for years.
That said, I realize innovation can be hard to quantify and explain, and also since I like both of those developers I’m sure I’ll like the game even if it’s along the same lines. I’m actually fine with genre games as long as I like the genre.
Really, almost a year and a half from the last reply in this thread?! And the mysterious Dertiger, “someone in his/her thirties” from Holland, Belgium, Switzerland, South Africa somewhere in world, is nowhere to be found? The Vanishing of Dertiger?
Anyway, some new pics have popped up:
Also, did you see the preview mini-comic? Seems nice.

Damn, those look stunning.
Wow, looks like something THECHINESEROOM would do. The same organic and natural look of the environs make me feel like Im looking back to the beauty of Dear Esther…and yet this isn’t the game THECHINESEROOM is working on. Im a happy man. Look at that. A work of art.

Finally a new preview:

Gives a sense of the gameplay and story.
The main character has the ability to watch the last 30 seconds of a victim’s life.
Trailer:
Beautiful scenario. Gruesome stuff.
I think I need to get myself a better graphics card for this game. My old one would mostlikely melt.
It’s no wonder the game looks the way it does. Most of the game world objects are based on real, 3D scanned objects. They’ve pretty much scanned in stuff like houses or even rocks. Great stuff, really.

Feels like the uncanny valley effect on..
“Going on means going far - Going far means returning”
New Gamescon trailer
An adventure game is nothing more than a good story set with engaging puzzles that fit seamlessly in with the story and the characters, and looks and sounds beautiful.

That floating interface action was terrible.
