To BaLrOG,

I am very pleased to say that my prom - instead of being the anxiety-related eruption of sweat and poorly thought-out ramblings that I had feared - was pretty cool and was a good reminder of why I hold my closest friends in such high regard.

I also looked quite smart in a suit and made some people laugh, which was also cool.

O gawd, yeah. She can totally lay on the guilt. But she knows it doesn't work with me anymore, ha! I did comfort her, though, after scolding her. Promised her I'll call her everyday while I'm in S.F., and she knows I'm there to raise money for AIDS research and stuff. I also promised her that if her daughter-in-law gives her a hard time while she's staying at my brother's, I'll go after the beeyatch. Fo shizzle.

Just came back from the doctor, and it turns out I've got a tonsillar inflammation of the left tonsil located at my tongue base. At least I only got to take antibiotics, but it still sucks.

Aww, I'm so sorry Jaz! I had mono, didn't stop me and my boo from snogging.

Hammy! I'm so happy for you! You must post a picture ASAP!

Mono is short for mononucleosis, sometimes referred to as the "kissing disease".

This was your slang and colloquialism lesson for the day, tsa.

Heh, I'll try.

Also, I don't think it's Pfeiffer's Disease. Yes, my tonsils are swollen, but just on one side, but that's about all. Sometimes I cough, but mostly because I got something in the wrong throat because swallowing is a bit difficult and painful on the left side. I don't have any fever, and I definitely don't experience a lack of hunger.

The doctor took a sample, though, to see what kind of bacteria it would be.

I hope that clears up for you. Tonsils are a pain in the ar- ...er, throat. They cause plenty of discomfort just like the old wisdom teeth and more seriously the appendix. What do they all do? What are they for? What is a bird? We simply don't know.

My brother's just had his out due to recurring tonsillitis and the antibiotics he'd been on riddled his mouth with ulcers reducing him to tears from the pain in the front and back of his mouth!

I'm new on the forums by the way. Been lurking for a while but thought I'd show my mug seen as I've missed a few playthroughs and you all seem like a bunch of friendly folk.

EDIT: Hold on, 'kissing disease' is glandular fever isn't it? That knocked me for six when I was at uni. It was like really bad influenza with a terrible bout of tonsillitis. Glad you aren't feeling anywhere near that bad!!
