Hey guys. I'm sorry to double-post, but I'm so excited!!!

I was really wanting to do a community playthrough, since I had never partaken in any, and I may be able to HEAD a playthrough of "The Lost Crown"!!! I'm so excited, because it's one of my favorite games. I'm not sure how to take screenshots from the game, if anyone can give me a hint. lol

What's bothering me the most is how can I make the playthrough be more than just another thread about the game where people discuss. I want to make it different than just a thread, so it really is different from the other threads about it. Any advice?

How to make screen shots from a game:

- Press PrintScreen
- Press Alt-Tab
- Start Paint
- Press Ctrl-V
- Save the screenshot

On a Mac it's even easier: press Command-Shift-3 and a png of the screen is put on your desktop.

Well, it's secret information what was the thing that did it, but I can tell you that the shirt is awesome!

I use it frequently.

Thanks tsa!!! Wow, it really works. It's a lot of steps, though, without being able to pause the game.

Thanks bunches!!!! xD

Later than intended but here you go.

There's a driveway somewhere under this lot.

The picture of the chapel is beautiful Step! Is that where you ring bells on Sundays?

You can also use tools like FRAPS (which costs money, but also allows you to record gameplay movies), or YAFSScreen (Totally free and easy to use! Also allows you to take pictures in lossless jpeg format that aren't even very large in file size.).

I've never heard of lossless jpeg. Are you sure it's lossless? With Paint you can also save in jpeg.

Well, I call it lossless, but I mean that it's without any fuzzyness or pixels that weren't there before. A "high quality jpeg". You can adjust the quality of the jpegs it records to your liking.

And the useful thing is that you simply have to hit "Print screen" with YAFSScreen, and it automatically creates the screenshot file, without having to go back to Paint every time you want to take a screenshot. Very useful for programs that don't really respond well to you switching to the desktop. Or when taking screenshots in the middle of movie sequences.

Oh gosh, thanks guys!! Jaz-thanks for the thoguht, it would be nice for a movie-sequence. I always wanted to take movies or something, but jsut taking a screenshot would be awesome.

I'm so excited about it, but kinda nervous. I'm not sure what game would be good for a playthrough, and I've been thinking through a list of games.

Thanks for letting me rant to you, AG.

EDIT: Oh, and that's a beautiful photograph, Step!!

No. It's the chapel at the cemetery. (No bells, alas)

By the way, those dark dingy-looking pictures were taken at 2:00 in the afternoon.

Hey all. Okay, I know I must be a bore talking about what other threads are for on the chit-chat thread, but right now my brain is *consumed* with adventure games.

I was wondering which game would most people like to play if they partook in a community playthrough. I'm going to give a suggestion of some of the games I own, so I can take part in them, too. I'm just curious to which game would me most popular to play for that. The one's with the question marks would be ones that are kind of hard to spilt into "chapters" or whatever, so I'd have to think a bit harder on them.

One's I could Head:
-Lost Crown
-Dark Falls?
-Barrow Hill?
-Longest Journey/Dreamfall
-Myst games, especially Riven?
-Blackstone Chronicles
-Sanitarium
-Overclocked?
-Black Mirror?
-Indigo Prophecy

-Syberia?
-Post Mortem?

I'm sorry, I'm just curious. Please forgive me.

Black Mirror does have chapters of sorts (days as I recall) but the length is a bit variable.

Sanitarium can be tricky to run under XP (the original edition anyway) so could be a tricky one.

I/d find an Indigo Prophecy one interesting (I have been toying with the idea of playing it again) Don't forget that it was called Fahrenheit over this side of the Atlantic. You'd need to mention both titles when starting the playthrough to avoid confusion. The individual chapters are, for the most part, relatively small, so it could be good for people that don't have time to play big chunks of a game.

I have Barrow Hill but I haven't even tried loading it yet. I'll take your word for it that splitting it would prove tricky. Personally I'd rather wait until a second playthrough for a community playthrough myself.

Have you considered an Underground playthrough? Has the advantage that everyone can get the game. Has the disadvantage that you've got to entice people into the Underground forum to take part.

I'd love to see someone do a playthrough of DREAMING. It's so short that you don't even have to split it into chapters!

Thank you for your input, Step. I haven't really thought about it, because I do love the published games a lot.

It's funny., it's been snowing for 48 hours outside now. I had to spend ages to get my car from under the snow during the morning. It was completely stuck even, the wheels were just rolling and car not moving...

I never would've believed that we would have this much snow in Vaasa area ever again because of these days the winters always seem too warm.

I have to say that I really hate the immigration laws of Finland.

If you want to do a DELUXE version, I have a non-lossy version of my location.

Like, with additional conversation branches and perhaps voice acting?

I'll think about it.
