1.                                Introduction

===============================================================================


A remake of the original EGA version, Police Quest VGA is an excellent remake
that makes many changes on the original. The graphics are improved with various
locations being completely redesigned. Where the original had many complicated
commands that needed to be typed, icons are now used which make things much
easier. The game involves Sonny Bonds, a police officer in the Lytton Police
Department. After a day of various arrests, Bonds is thrown into the deep end
when he is assigned to Narcotics and is told to investigate a murderer known as
the Death Angel. He travels to the Hotel Delphoria to confront him, unaware
that The Death Angel will soon become aware of his identity.

2.                                Walkthrough

===============================================================================


STATION
-------

The game starts in the hallway. East. Open the right door to enter the locker
room. Use the middle locker in the middle set of lockers and enter the password
269 to open the locker. Get the towel. Close the locker and then walk into the
shower. Open the locker again and get the blue uniform. Get the ticket book,
nightstick and Camaro keys. Close the locker. Exit the locker room and open the
middle door to enter the briefing room. Read the newspaper on the table. Sit
through the briefing. Get the note from Bonds' pigeonhole. Exit the briefing
room. Get a patrol key from the board and a radio extender on top of the desk.
West. West. Walk around the car to perform the safety check. Get in the car and
drive around until a message is received from dispatch regarding a major
traffic collision on Fig Street between 3rd and 4th. Drive to the area.


CAR COLLISION
-------------

Look at the man in the car. Use the hand icon on the man in the car. Talk to
the crowd. Use the radio on Bonds twice and Dooley will arrive. Use the patrol
car to leave the scene. Drive around until a message is received from dispatch
regarding a detour to Caffiene Carol's. Drive to the area.


CAFFEINE CAROL'S
----------------

Enter Caffeine Carol's and sit on the stool at the right side of Steve. After
the coffee has been served, the phone will ring. Use the phone to talk to
Hamilton. Exit Caffeine Carol's and enter the patrol car. Drive around until
the speeding red car passes by. Turn on the siren to pull over the driver.


SPEEDING CAR
------------

Look at the car and then use the radio on Bonds to notify dispatch of the
license plate. Exit the patrol car. Look at the woman in the car and then talk
to her. Combine the pen with the ticket book in the inventory. Give the ticket
to the woman and select Ticket from the menu. Use the patrol car. Drive around
until a message is received from dispatch regarding a complaint at Caffiene
Carol's. Drive to the area.


CAFFEIENE CAROL'S
-----------------

Enter Caffeine Carol's and talk to Carol. Exit the shop and walk down the
alley. Enter Wino Willy's and use the nightstick on the biker thug. Talk to
Marie in front of the jukebox. Exit Wino Willy's and return to Caffeine
Carol's. Use the patrol car and drive around until the white car passes by.
Turn on the siren to pull over the driver.


DRUNK DRIVER
------------

Look at the car and then use the radio on Bonds to notify dispatch of the
license plate. Exit the patrol car. Look at the man in the car and then talk to
him three times to administer the field sobriety test. Talk to the man again
and then use the handcuffs on him. Answer no to his question. Open the back
door of the patrol car to let Barnum get in. Open the front door of the patrol
car to exit the area. Drive to the jail.


JAIL
----

Exit the patrol car to let Barnum out. Open the top-left storage locker and put
the gun inside. Push the button to enter the jail. Talk to Paul and book Barnum
for driving under the influence of intoxicants (21603), exceeding the speed
limit (26504), failure to stop for a red light (21490), failure to stop for a
stop sign (13301), not in full control of faculities (44729) and reckless
driving (29211). After booking Barnum, talk to him and he will move to the
middle of the room. Remove the handcuffs to put him in the cell. Laura will
appear to mention that Morgan is accepting transfer requests for the Narcotics
division. Exit the jail and get the gun from the locker. Use the patrol car.
Drive to the station.


STATION
-------

Exit the patrol car and enter the station. Get a memo from the slot near the
elevator. Walk east to enter Dooley's office. Enter the locker room. Use the
middle locker in the middle set of lockers and enter the password 269 to open
it. Get the towel. Close the locker and then walk into the shower. Open the
locker again and get the street clothes. Get the Camaro keys. Close the locker.
Exit the locker room. Put the patrol car keys on the board and the radio on the
desk. Walk west twice to exit the station. Use the Camaro and drive to The Blue
Room.


THE BLUE ROOM
-------------

Enter The Blue Room and sit down at the table. Talk to Jack twice and wait for
the party to finish. Exit The Blue Room and use the Camaro. Drive to the
station.


STATION
-------

Exit the car and enter the station. East. Enter the locker room. Use the middle
locker in the middle set of lockers and enter the password 269 to open it. Get
the blue uniform, the ticket book and nightstick. Close the locker. Exit the
locker room and enter the briefing room. Use the chair and sit through the
briefing. Exit the briefing room. Get a patrol car key from the board and a
radio extender on top of the desk. West. West. Get in the car and drive around
until a message is received from dispatch regarding a domestic disturbance on
the corner of Lily and 1st. Drive to the area to receive another message from
dispatch regarding a stolen vehicle. Wait for the vehicle to pass and then turn
on the siren to pull over the driver.


STOLEN VEHICLE
--------------

Look at the car and then use the radio on Bonds twice to notify dispatch of the
license plate, and also to request backup. Wait for backup to arrive. Exit the
patrol car and use the gun on Bonds to aim it at the man in the stolen car.
Talk to the man and he will exit the car. Talk to the man again to tell him to
halt and to raise his hands. Talk to the man again and he will lie down. Use
the handcuffs on the man to put him in the patrol car. Talk to the man. Look at
the door of the stolen car and use the door to reveal the VIN number
(603456218). Exit the view of the door. Look at the compartment in the front of
the car and press the button to open the trunk. Exit the compartment view and
open the trunk. Look at the drugs. Use the patrol car and drive to the jail.


JAIL
----

Exit the patrol car to let Hoffman out. Open the top-left storage locker and
put the gun inside. Push the button to enter the jail. Talk to Paul and book
Hoffman for possession of a concealed weapon (12509), possession of a
controlled substance (12876), resisting arrest (00308) and stolen vehicle
(19221). After booking Hoffman, talk to him and he will move to the middle of
the room. Remove the handcuffs to put him in the cell. Jack will appear to
mention that Dooley wants to see Bonds back at the station. Exit the jail and
get the gun from the locker. Use the patrol car and drive to the station.


STATION
-------

Exit the patrol car and enter the station. East. Open the door to Dooley's
office. Look at the memo on the desk and read it to discover that Bonds has
been transferred to Narctoics. Exit Dooley's office use the patrol car keys on
the board. Open the door to the locker room. Use the middle locker in the
middle set of lockers and enter the password 269 to open it. Get the street
clothes. Close the locker and exit the locker room. West. Press the button to
use the elevator. Enter Morgan's office to talk to Morgan. Exit the office.
East. Open the door to talk to Laura in the narcotics room.

Open the bottom-middle drawer of the file cabinet and use it to find the
Hoffman file. Get the undercover car keys from the board and then exit the
office. West. Press the button to use the elevator. Open the door to enter the
evidence lockup and give the Hoffman file to Russ. Get the gun and look at it
to read the serial number. Exit the evidence lockup and press the button to use
the elevator. East. Open the door to enter the narcotics office. Use Bonds'
computer and select Weapons. Enter the serial number of the gun (97649) to
reveal that the gun is registered to Jason Taselli with case number 60321. Exit
the Weapons menu and select FBI. Enter the case number 60321 and print
Taselli's file. Quit the computer and get the wanted poster from the printer.
Exit the station and use the undercover car. Drive to the courthouse.


COURTHOUSE
----------

Enter the courthouse and talk to Oliver three times. Open the door to enter the
courtroom. Talk to the judge and then give the Hoffman file to the baliff. The
judge will grant a no bail warrant for Hoffman. Exit the courthouse and use the
undercover car. Drive to the jail.


JAIL
----

Exit the car. Open the top-left storage locker and put the gun inside. Push the
button to enter the jail. Give the no bail warrant to Paul. Exit the jail and
get the gun from the locker. Use the undercover car. Bonds will drive to the
station, where Laura informs him about a drug deal in Bert's Park. Drive to
Bert's Park.


PARK
----

Enter the park and walk behind the bush at the left side of the area. Use the
radio on Bonds. Use the gun on Bonds. Wait for the two men to arrive. After the
exchange takes place, talk to Simms to catch him. Talk to Simms. Use the gun on
Bonds to put the gun away. Use the handcuffs on Simms twice. Search Simms to
find cocaine. Bonds will exit the park to find that Laura has caught Colby.
Talk to Simms to exit the park. Drive to the jail.


JAIL
----

Open the top-left storage locker and put the gun inside. Push the button to
enter the jail. Talk to Paul and book Colby and Simms for possession of a
controlled substance (12876). After booking Colby and Simms, talk to them and
they will move to the middle of the room. Remove the handcuffs to put them in
the cell. Laura will mention that Jack wanted to talk to Bonds at The Blue
Room. Exit the jail and get the gun from the locker. Use the patrol car and
drive to The Blue Room.


THE BLUE ROOM
-------------

Enter The Blue Room and sit down at the table. Talk to Jack twice and Keith
will enter The Blue Room to say that Taselli has escaped. Use the undercover
car and drive to the station.


STATION
-------

Exit the undercover car and enter the station. Press the button to use the
elevator. Enter Morgan's office to talk to Morgan. Exit the office. Press the
button to use the elevator. Open the door to the evidence lockup and give the
Hoffman file to Russ. Get the black book and look at it. Exit the view of the
book. Exit the evidence lockup and press the button to use the elevator. Enter
Morgan's office to talk to Morgan. Exit the station and use the undercover car.
Drive to the jail.


JAIL
----

Exit the undercover car. Open the top-left storage locker and put the gun
inside. Push the button to enter the jail. Bonds will ask Marie for help at the
Hotel Delphoria. Exit the jail and get the gun from the locker. Use the
undercover car. Drive around until a message is received from dispatch
regarding Cotton Cove. Drive to Cotton Cove.


COTTON COVE
-----------

Move the blanket and look at the body to see the tattoo. Talk to Todd. Use the
undercover car and drive to the station.


STATION
-------

Exit the undercover car and enter the station. Press the button to use the
elevator. Enter Morgan's office to talk to Morgan. Laura will give the hair dye
to Bonds. Exit the office. Press the button to use the elevator. East. Open the
door to the locker room. Use the middle locker in the middle set of lockers and
enter the password 269 to open it. Get the towel. Close the locker and walk
into the shower. Bonds will bleach his hair. Open the locker and get the white
suit and undercover wallet. Close the locker and exit the locker room. West.
Press the button to use the elevator. Enter Morgan's office to talk to Morgan.
Exit the station and use the undercover car. Drive to the Hotel Delphoria.


HOTEL DELPHORIA
---------------

Enter the hotel and use the bell on the counter to receive the room key from
the clerk. Walk through the door and talk to the bartender. Talk to Marie. Talk
to the bartender to hear about the poker game. Bonds will enter his hotel room.
Use the phone and dial 555-6887 to order a taxi for Marie. Use the phone again
and dial 555-3784 to call Morgan. Exit the room and press the button to use the
elevator. Select the first floor. Walk through the door and talk to the
bartender. Show the wallet to Alex and she will take Bonds through to the
storage room. Walk through to the poker room and sit at the table.

Choose to either play poker or don't play and win. Return to Bonds' hotel room
and use the phone. Dial 555-3784 to call Morgan. Wait in the room until backup
arrives with more money and a transmitter. Return to the bar and show the
wallet to the bartender to enter the storage room. Return to the poker room and
sit at the table. Wait for Frank to arrive and then talk to him. Choose to
either play poker or don't play and win. Enter the elevator with Frank to enter
his room. Frank will reveal that he is the Death Angel. When he leaves, look at
the phone on the bar and then use the pen on Bonds to complete the game.

BILL BARNUM'S DRIVERS LICENSE
  Found by talking to the drunk. It is not used.


CAMARO KEYS
  Found in the locker at the station. They are used to drive the Camaro outside
  the station.


DELUXE TRANSMITTER PEN
  After winning the first poker game, the pen is found by calling Morgan in the
  hotel room at the Hotel Delphoria. It is used on Bonds after Frank leaves the
  room.


EXTENDER
  Found on the desk in the station. It is used at various points of the game to
  notify dispatch.


HAIR DYE
  After Bonds has been given the Hotel Delphoria mission, Laura will give the
  hair dye to Bonds in Morgan's office at the station. It is used in the
  shower.


HANDCUFFS
  Found in the locker at the station. They are used on the drunk, Hoffman and
  Simms.


HOFFMAN FILE
  Found in the file cabinet in the narcotics office at the station. It is shown
  to Russ at the station. It is given to the baliff at the courthouse.


HOTEL ROOM KEY
  Found by using the bell on the counter in the Hotel Delphoria. It is used to
  open the door to Bonds' hotel room.


NIGHTSTICK
  Found in the locker at the station. It is used on the biker thug in Wino
  Willy's.


NO BAIL WARRANT
  Found by giving the Hoffman file to the baliff in the courthouse. It is given
  to Paul in the jail.


PATROL CAR KEYS
  Found on the board in the station. They are used to drive the patrol car
  outside the station.


PEN
  Found in the locker at the station. It is used on the ticket book to write a
  ticket for the woman in the speeding car.


SERVICE REVOLVER
  Found in the locker at the station. It is used on Bonds to defend against
  Hoffman in the stolen car and also from Simms and Colby at the park.


TICKET
  Found by using the pen on the ticket book in the area with the speeding car.
  It is given to the woman in the speeding car.


TICKET BOOK
  Found in the locker at the station. It is used on the pen to write a ticket
  for the woman in the speeding car.


TOWEL
  Found in the locker at the station. It is used before having a shower at the
  station.


UNDERCOVER CAR KEYS
  Found on the board in the narcotics office at the station. They are used to
  drive the undercover car outside the station.


UNDERCOVER WALLET
  Found in the locker at the station after Bonds has bleached his hair. It is
  shown to Alex at the bar in the Hotel Delphoria to enter the poker room.
