Sanctua: Unearth the secrets of a cursed tomb

The ancient tomb's curse is alive and spreading in Sanctua, the latest creation from French solo developer Jason Nicot (Choose Red). This asymmetrical co-op party game invites players to either survive the deadly perils of a procedurally generated tomb or become the sinister force that haunts their companions. Dive into the depths of an ancient tomb and decide if you'll bury the trust of your friends.

Sanctua is built in Unreal Engine 5, captivating players with its detailed environments and visual splendor. Different from other communication-based party games, it features a top-down camera that provides a clear overview of the surroundings—if your supply of torches can light the way! Despite its mature setting, the game is light on graphic violence, making it suitable for players of all ages.

The Steam page for Sanctua is live as of today, with the game set to release in the first half of 2025. A closed playtest is coming later this year, so be sure to wishlist the game if you want to stay posted on updates. Take a first look at the gripping reveal trailer here:

Sanctua promises a thrilling co-op party game set in a cursed tomb. Players must work together and communicate effectively to survive deadly traps, cursed wildlife, and above all, evade the ancient guardian that stalks the ever-shifting ruins. Survival won't be easy, as one player becomes corrupted and transforms into the evil entity seeking the demise of the explorers. With a randomly generated tomb layout, random gadgets, and mechanisms, no two games will be the same in Sanctua.
