Dr. Finklestein’s Marvelous Room: A community-driven revolution

In the ever-expanding world of gaming, the question is posed: Is it a walking simulator when you’re stuck in a room? The developers at DEVBEEF, known for their work on Title_Pending, are striving to answer this question with their upcoming title, Dr. Finklestein’s Marvelous Room. The demo for this intriguing game is now available for PC on both Steam and the Epic Games Store. Additionally, the demo will be featured in the upcoming June 2024 Steam Next Fest.

In Dr. Finklestein’s Marvelous Room, it’s 1970 and the world is ending. A giant space worm, the “Dark Doodad”, is set to destroy the world in exactly 6 months, 14 days, 2 hours, and 47 seconds. As the last hope for humanity, you've been selected to participate in Dr. Gumphrey Finklestein’s groundbreaking experiment, “The Marvelous Room Experiment”. This story-rich experimental game has you pacing the confines of your 10m x 8m x 5m world and carefully inspecting fifty community-voted ideas. The fate of humanity against the Dark Doodad lies in your lever-pulling hands. You can check out the game's unique mechanics in the videos below:

Dr. Finklestein’s Marvelous Room is a community-curated game. On April 1, 2023, DEVBEEF announced they would be creating a game where they would bring to life the ideas of their "lunatic fanbase". Over 50 days, user-submitted ideas faced off in a 1 vs 1 showdown, with the community-voted favorite of the day deemed worthy of Marvelous Room treatment. The first six can be savored in the upcoming demo, while the remaining forty-four will be unveiled in the complete game. Be prepared to pull levers, inspect items, and face the consequences of your actions in this unique gaming experience.
