Return to Monkey Island: A Mobile Adventure Awaits
Devolver Digital and Terrible Toybox have announced they will release Return to Monkey Island for iOS and Android on July 27. This follows its initial launch on Switch and PC via Steam on September 19, 2022, and subsequently for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series on November 8, 2022.
Return to Monkey Island marks a thrilling return of series creator Ron Gilbert and continues the story of the iconic adventure games The Secret of Monkey Island and Monkey Island 2: LeChuck’s Revenge, developed in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games. The game sees Guybrush Threepwood once again facing off against his nemesis, the zombie pirate LeChuck, amidst a host of other challenges and bizarre situations. Players will have to use their wits, solve puzzles, and navigate dangerous new leadership to achieve glory.
Some of the key features of Return to Monkey Island include point-and-click swashbuckling gameplay, archipelago adventures, and a legendary crew. The game’s context-sensitive interactions, reactive dialog trees, and easy-to-use inventory system promise to make pirating a breeze. Players can navigate the sometimes-friendly confines of Melee Island, venture out into uncharted lands like the aptly named Terror Island, and the chilling outposts of Brrr Muda.
