Sam Harris another Jew in the media like Maher, Rubin etc. now channeling fear mongering narrative with AIs after Muslims.
But it’s not about Sam Harris. There are far too many messengers, impossible for you to shoot them all.
From what I understand the only thing we are succeeding at currently is processing power(able to do more tasks at a faster pace). But computers haven’t come closer to being ‘smarter’. Also, the human brain is one of the most complex things in the universe and scientists are nowhere close to understanding it. Understanding that first is key in developing genuine AI.
Aha, a great opportunity to post one of my favorite quotes: If our brain were so simple we could understand it, we would be so simple that we couldn’t.
I know virtually nothing about the subject, but I’d say the problem is that artificial general intelligence may NOT be dependent on the complexity of the human brain. If you’re saying we should only fear a new, metallic race of intelligent beings with humanlike central processors and human emotions, then I hope you’re right.

His agenda neither. Thats why Ben affleck attacked him on first chance he got even though Sam was arguing with other guy. His reputation precedes him and he gained traction by fellow like minded atheists.
As far as AI taking us all, from 80s novel, Animes to Skynet, W.Gibson etc.

What i believe that death can hit you with diseases and other things far more sooner and out of the blue than some controlled predictable outcome.

Look wat happened to Stevejobs, even though he changed the tech and social game of the entire world.

I just think there is a fallacy in assuming science will explain and accomplish everything. It will not probably. Maybe some things will ever remain a mystery.
How did the universe get created? Where does a selfconscious come from? Einstein stated that going back in time should be possible according to our laws, yet no one has visited us yet from the future(lol, lame example).
Also the idea that people advance on an exponential rate is not true necessarily. The number of new patents have steadily decreased over time. It’s actually becoming harder and harder to make further innovations.
Anyway…enough worry. Time to watch football.

Yeah, sure thing. Isn’t that more or less the same thing as I said with the quote? But science doesn’t have to explain anything, it has proven beyond a shadow of doubt that it is capable of destroying mankind with for instance nuclear bombs.

I need to ask advice, my pals kid in his very young age, got in porn related mess.
How do you guys with kids deal with this i.e not letting your kids get exposed to porn, in this age where a simple wrong click can lead to cesspit of weird shit.
