I’m sure this has been done before here, but I couldn’t find anything from the search function so I’ll give it a go anyway. What I’m posting are screenshots from adventure games and the related shots from the Movie/TV shows they are paying homage to. I’m going to start off by posting a few, but please post any you know of as well.

Discworld (1995)

Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981)

Ed Hopper’s “Nighthawks,” and the diner near the end of “Face Noir.” (See attached.)

Also, I noticed that Del Nero uses the nickname “Kennel Reilly,” which is a play off Phillip Marlowe calling himself “Doghouse Reilly” in Raymond Chandler’s “The Big Sleep.”

Again, not from a movie, but the cover art for “The Dagger of Amon Ra” looks to be inspired by the cover of this edition of the Saturday Evening Post, illustrated by J.C. Leyendecker (also, the museum in the game is named after him).

Should all of the Star Wars and Indiana Jones homages in every single Lucasarts game even count?  There’s really too many to list.

Nice one Advie but you didn’t mention the name of the game or the movie it references. For those who don’t know it’s The Colonel’s Bequest (1989) and the movie is:

Psycho (1960)
