Adventure Game Scene of the Day - Thursday 28 January
I only played the first episode of The Silent Age but so far it’s very good. Features typical point-and-click gameplay with some nice puzzles that involve time travel that is always a plus, (change stuff in the past and go back to the future). Definitely recommend at least trying the first episode.
The game started it’s life on the App store as a free app and then released in-game purchase of the second chapter. According to the game’s blog it had 7 million downloads although no idea how much converted to the second chapter. Last year the PC version was released adding better visuals and voice acting. Don’t know how successful it was but at least it was good enough to fund the PC release, so it seems like a possible solid business plan.
I played the PC version and had a lot of fun with it.
Thanks wilco, the screenshots have always looked interesting so it’s good to have some input about the 1st episode at least!
I always thought this was a PC game, and didn’t realize it started its life on the mobile platforms.
By the way, if anyone is interested in playing this game and doesn’t own it, it is available for 75% discount in the humble bundle store:

Bought it for the full prize after reading wilco’s recommendation.
I’m starting chapter 3. The puzzles are extremely easy so far. Will they get harder?

No.

Well… sorry. It does have other recommendations, I enjoyed the first episode for the good little scifi story and the visuals/sound mix.

Actually even if it’s always in the easy side it does become harder, but it does never become DotT hard for time manipulation

Hard or totally awesome?

Both
Finished it. I loved the story with all its details, although the ending was somewhat disappointing. I’d have preferred it if it ended when Joe has completed his mission as a sick pilot. Sad but more satisfying. IMO.
The puzzles were easy. Even so I got stuck two or three times. The time travel aspect was handled the same way in Lilly Looking Through, which is a very short game and yet it made better use of the time jumps in puzzles.
Still a good game, lovely graphics, great sounds and “music”, enjoyed it a lot.

Ah! Good to know (I still need to play the 2nd episode)
I agree with Karlok, I really loved the story. The puzzles are mostly on the easy side but enjoyable. Graphics and sound are perfect. It’s been one of the happy surprise last year.

Heh… you must have misunderstood me. My was no reflection on your recommendation, but on the fact that I paid 10 bucks at Steam when Soccerdude posted a link to a 75% discount.
