You are confusing everyone with the labeling. Stop it - that goes for everyone trying to mislead in these quizzes by putting a false title there.
Agh. With the first tracks, I was convinced it was a game I hadn’t played (as usual when diego posts something), but then the newer ones got me doubting, and with the latest one I was sure it was something I had played…
After going through my collection, it seems like it’s To the Moon—and that I’m an idiot for not seeing that earlier.

With all due respect but I love red herring titles and I think Diego’s system of slowly revealing the type of game of game we should be looking for is absolutely brilliant.

That’s right! Uhh… I mean, that’s right, it’s To the Moon!
And no one should feel bad for not guessing it - not only that I was being “Filename jerk of the year” (sorry Zif!), but I deliberately went with the non-piano themes of the soundtrack It was only with this fifth track that I posted something recognizable, and the main theme would probably come after I’d used all the other tracks.

Yeah sorry about that, I got frustrated. I just think it should be made very clear it IS a red herring, we’ve turned away many newcomers to these quizzes by labeling a screen/sound “Mystlike from 1998”, they spend hours thinking of such a game, and then we tell them “oh but I didn’t say it’s a Mystlike from 1998, it’s actually a newish comedy”. At which they probably leave the forum forever thinking we’re mentally disturbed.

Spoilsport!

Likewise, the first three had me convinced I hadn’t played it, the fourth one made me doubt, and the last made me go “wait, those other ones were in To the Moon too?”.
I’ve obviously been focusing too much on the “For River” parts of that soundtrack…
The truth can’t hurt you, it’s just like the dark: it scares you witless but in time you see things clear and stark. - Elvis Costello
Maybe this time I can be strong, but since I know who I am, I’m probably wrong. Maybe this time I can go far, but thinking about where I’ve been ain’t helping me start. - Michael Kiwanuka
Next!
It reminds me vaguely of Riddle of the Sphinx… Yeah, sorry, I should have resisted that one.
It does remind me a bit about Atlantis, though. The Lost Tales, maybe?
No, sorry.
Here’s another one: http://kiwi6.com/file/8yj93o1w39

Nice try, Kurufinwe, but this time the file name is definitely revealing: it’s “The Circus of Fools” music from Sanitarium…
And, if I am not mistaken, the first track is from the Maze section towards the end of the game.
Hey, Zifnab said to stop with the misleading titles, so I did! I live to serve.
Your turn, ollie.

(the track title isn’t misleading but not very much of a hint either, sorry…)
Wild guess : Toonstruck?
I am baaaaaaaack!
Nope, it’s a much more recent game than Toonstruck (second half of the 00’s).
(Second hint: this particular music is a traditional folk song)
