Which adventure game character’s line is it anyway?
Yes!
I just thought of a quote I love. Something that pops up in my mind every now and then. I’m going to play the scene in the game right now to get it exactly right.
Here it is:
“I don’t like mirrors. They steal your soul.”
“How do you get your hair so symmetrical without using a mirror?”
“I do it by weight. I can feel if one side is heavier than the other.”
Symmetrical hair? Well, George Stobbart and Gabriel Knight come to mind.
George’s is more symmetrical so I’ll guess Broken Sword… 5?
I like the thought process but no cigar!
“It’s a magnifying glass. A big one.”
“How come you don’t have one of those?”
“Why? Because I"m a detective? Should I start smoking a pipe, too?”
“You couldn’t pull off a pipe.”
“...”
Discworld Noir?

Not quite..
But there’s a connection. The name of the detective can be found in many of the Discworld media.
I’m not sure about Discworld (read only several books), but I’m pretty sure that’s Sam and Max from Sam & Max Hit the Road.
PC means personal computer
Hilarious duo, but this is another couple of investigators!
It sounds like a conversation between McQueen and Dooley in The Darkside Detective, but I can’t think of a relationship to Discworld in the names.
I don’t really rise and shine. I caffeinate and hope for the best.
Another fun pair of sleuths, not the ones being quoted, though.
Here’s a small quote that may or may not help:
“It’s a little wooden box for paintbrushes.”
“To the casual observer, maybe.
They’re not real paintbrushes. Looks like they’re part of some kinda lock
mechanism.”
I am pretty sure I haven’t played this game, but reading the quotes, I feel like I should haha!

I recommend it.
Here’s a hint: the title of the game is the descriptive name of a building.
and a quote:
“Don’t think it’s locked?”
“That means we can walk straight in, right?”
“I’m fairly sure that’s the rule, yeah.”
I just found out there is indeed a policeman named Samuel “Sam” Vimes in the Discworld universe, so it must be Sam & Max after all! Sam & Max Hit the Structure with a Roof?
But seriously, I recognise most of those lines, but not the game. Maybe it’s Inspector Waffles? Was there someone named Waffles in Pratchett’s novels?
EDIT Here you go:
“Wuffles was an extremely elderly wire-haired terrier, belonging to Lord Havelock Vetinari”
building - Waffle House
PC means personal computer
Well, if it IS Inspector Waffles finally, I think it could be a great choice for a CPT.

It’s not retroactively Sam & Max! There are quite a few birds, but no cats in the game.
I do enjoy these excursions. Here’s another quote.
“Spooky. What do you think it’s for?”
“I think it’s to scare away detectives.”
“-is it working?”
“No… ”
edit: the detective’s name invokes a sense of magic.
