SSH - 20 August 2012 12:26 PM

Thanks for all the “wb"s everyone!
So, in 2010 my company moved me to work in China
In 2011 my company moved me to Singapore
And in 2012 my company moved me to Colorado Springs!

So, my world tour sponsored by my employer! Arrived just after the fires and trying to settle in… just waiting for my Social Security Number so that I can officially exist.

I am glad and you are in one of the greatest States in the Union. The place is beautiful.

Today I got the most brilliant pastime from Steve: a Find the Forumite game!

Click the picture for a large variant. Sorry about the bad quality: I only have my iPhone here in the hospital. It was fun solving it and I hope Steve doesn’t mind me sharing it with you guys.

Anyone wants a copy, PM me an e-mail address. It’s an Excel file, but I’m sure I could make a PDF copy if people prefer.

Did you solve the other puzzle? Did you even realise the other piece of paper has a puzzle to solve?

I really wish I could build a space station and live in space. I really wish I wasn’t so misanthropic.

I really wish I could build a space station and live in space.

There’s nothing wrong with wanting a little peace and quiet or even just a little “alone time” every so often to decompress and get away from all the noisy distractions of the world… other people usually being chief among said distractions.  That’s why I’ve always gravitated towards empty spaces like the desert- It’s really, really quiet there.  Then after I’ve had my fill of quiet contemplation and the occasional bout of navel-gazing, I can head to the local casino which is (ideally) a riot of both color and sound.  It’s kind of like the traditional sauna experience where you sit in a stupendously hot room until you can’t take it any more and then dive into a snowbank or icy lake: Experiencing two extremes one right after another shocks your system and gives you a heightened appreciation for the middle ground between them.

But I digress.  Why not build your own little “space station” here on Earth in the form of a “man cave”, or at least a spot where you can be alone for a few minutes with no interruptions?  Being 1/2 of a married couple can make this a bit more challenging, but explaining to the Missus that she’ll get a much nicer husband if she allows you a few minutes alone now and again should help, particularly if you make it clear she can expect the same courtesy from you under similar circumstances.

Hehehe!  You want to see misanthropy?  Talk to me after a bad day of dealing with the public.

Warning- People won’t have as much of a sense of humor about you putting an Alka Seltzer in your mouth then staggering into a restaurant while shouting “THE VIRUS HAS MUTATED!” as you’d hope they would.

Consider this: People say “Ewwww!!!” when they hear about a guy having a hairy bum or hairy back, yet every Teddy Bear ever made has had both a hairy bum AND a hairy back and nobody complains about them; In fact, people think Teddy Bears are adorable.
