The X-files Game
I have not played the Pandora Directive yet! (Is it worth it??)
For me it’s one of the best AGs of all time and I’m not alone in thinking that as it comes in at Number 9 on Adventure Gamers all time top 100. It has its detractors of course, as every game does, but if you want Roswell. Once again it’s first person but, like it’s immediate predecessor Under A Killing Moon, it has an excellent built-in hint system if you play on the easy mode but that is not available if you play on difficult mode. Difficult mode is a rather larger game as well. One caveat that I will supply is that, on my modern machine anyway, there is a maneuvering puzzle late in the game on difficult mode that becomes rather harder than it was originally because of processor speed.

Depends which game you’re talking about Kate
X Files was Mac compatible BUT it was released in the late Nineties so might not be compatible with a more modern version of the OS. As far as I know the game has never been made available as a digital download.
Steam do The Pandora Directive for Mac (just checked ) which is compatible with Leopard 10.7 onwards according to their website.
