Text Adventure Playthrough #2: Spider And Web
>look inside gap
You strain, pulling yourself up with your arms, until you can see over the lip of the hole. The space over the acoustical panelling is only a few inches high; but it spreads out around you into darkness.
A small package, wrapped in cloth, is sitting on the panelling, just a few inches from your face.
Nice
>take package
>open package
>look at that
>take package
(with one hand, hanging by the other)
Taken.
>open package
(with one hand, hanging by the other)
It’s not yet time.
>x package
It’s an oblong bundle of cloth, a bit larger than your palm.
You grimace, and ignore the pain in your arms. You’ve been through worse.
A few thoughts so far, keeping in mind that I haven’t played the game either:
Are we actually a spy or just a tourist? At first I thought they must be interrogating the wrong person. And the fact that we don’t remember what we did suggests we’re not a spy. But then we have these gadgets, some of which are voiceprinted to our voice. We also know the names of the gadgets in our inventory. And it’s possible there’s an explanation for not remembering anything, such as a memory wipe.
Then there are quotes like “it’s not yet time” when trying to open the package. How could we know when it’s time if we’re just a tourist?
I’m sure all will be revealed soon enough… or will it?
Maybe its not time because we are hanging?

>open package
I’d forgotten we started as a tourist. In my mind we’re a seasoned spy.
Sometimes, when I clean the rooms, I get a little curious and… erm… you know… snoop through our guests’s stuff. - This Bed We Made
I’m just wondering when diego’s going to jump in with our intro music. Something 007 / Mission Impossible-ish maybe

After opening the package and now that Karlok made a breakthrough lets have a little break and try some funny stuff and see what happens
> eat bolt wrench
> sleep
> kiss the door
> touch yourself (yeah, I`m twelve )
>d
You drop lightly to the ground, and painfully massage your forearms.
>open package
It’s not yet time.
>eat bolt wrench
That’s plainly inedible.
>sleep
You aren’t feeling especially drowsy.
>kiss metal door
You can only do that to something animate.
>touch self
If you think that’ll help.

Woohoo! It just wouldn’t be a TAP without a diego soundtrack.
If we can jump to the gap in the ceiling, we can jump to the ventilator which is below the ceiling. So…
> jump
> open ventilator
Sometimes, when I clean the rooms, I get a little curious and… erm… you know… snoop through our guests’s stuff. - This Bed We Made
>jump
You bend and leap. Your fingers brush the edge of the hole—catch, and you concentrate on holding on. Your feet swing gently a foot above the floor.
>open ventilator
The ventilator grille isn’t important.
Maybe cross the red line again

Good idea. We’ve shown the interrogator what we apparently did in the gap…
>d
You drop lightly to the ground, flexing your fingers.

White Junction
You are in a bare tiled corridor, white tiles and cold white walls. The ceiling is acoustical panelling divided by illuminated strips of plastic. The hall runs north and east, with a branch curving away to the southeast.
>e
Corridor Boundary
The corridor angles here, and crosses a boundary of some sort as it does. A few strides down the southeast branch, a dotted red line crosses the floor. You can retreat from the boundary to the west.
>se
As you step across the line, a sharp buzzer echoes through the corridors.
—glaring light…
[Hit any key.]
Interrogation Chamber (imprisoned in the chair)
You blink away memory. The dim room comes again into focus, and the man behind the desk.
“We’ve been over this. We track all metal within the critical zones. I know you’re good; you surely noticed the ceiling web.”
>
Not really…
>yes
