I hope Shambling Corporate Presence comes to visit me this year.
My NaNoWriMo project is now at a little over 22,000 words, by the way. It's been a gruelling slog on some days, but definitely fun and rewarding for the most part, which is why I'm still doing it.

How do you work Squinky? Do you have the story as notes that you now use to write the novel, or do you make up the story as you go along?

I know you all love me, but you can't put stuff in my shoe without breaking into my house. Only Sinterklaas can do that. But maybe he thinks I haven't been a good boy in the last year

Thanks, love.
I'm making it up. I have some ideas in my head for how I want the story to end, but everything leading up to that point is mainly improvised. That makes it more fun for me. (Of course, it doesn't guarantee fun for the reader, but that's what editing's for.)

Hello Friends, Neighbors, Foreign Dignitaries, and Assembled Riffraff,
Yes Ole Paul is still alive and kicking! Have been working my booty off for Caterpillar since I moved back to Texas and haven't had much writing time. Busy at work, with the kids, and arguing with Mrs.R that I can to wash clothes (She tells me I screw it up). Just wanted all to know I peek in from time to time to see how you all are and if there have been any pannings going on. Just remember you spare the pan you spoil the child. Paul |

Dear AG blog...
Winter has hit us, and on top of the bipolar crap, I have to deal with S.A.D. (seasonal affective disorder). It's dark by noon and my depressed brain does not like it...not one bit. I had lost 15lbs over the summer walking at the park, but when winter hits, all I want to do is hibernate, watch Harry Potter movies and eat lots of ice cream. (and playing adventure games of course) Anyway, to those on here thinking of writing a novel, in the middle of writing one, or finishing one up, I have great respect for your patience and discipline to keep at it. (I've noticed we have a lot of folks on here who like to write) I have a sci-fi/fantasy story that's been growing in my mind since I was 16, and have yet to actually put it on paper. Patience, is one thing I need to work on in certain areas. I am looking forward to the new Australia movie with Hugh Jackman and Nicole Kidman. Hugh Jackman... *swoon*. He is just yummy. And that is my random and "all over the place" post for today. Hee. |

Yay! Glad to hear you're doing alright.
*warm hugs* Words on the page, one at a time. That's all it takes. One word at a time. You can start any time now. In fact, now is always the best time to start working on your novel. Just write. Stop worrying about it. It'll get done, but not if you don't start. Start. The rest will come to you. |

What they said! Writing is a very good test of your stamina, and very rewarding once you hold the complete book in your hands. It's also very relaxing (IMHO).

Today we have snow! This is the first snow of the new winter. Fantastic! It's a pity that it is still too warm so the snow melts as soon as it's on the ground, but still. Maybe we get a proper winter again this year.

Wow I miss snow! Everyone in my family besides me and my youngest daughter hate it.

My garden was even whiter this morning. So I thought I'd go take pictures in the surroundings this evening. Before I knew it I was on a big road into Germany, and it was snowing like crazy! I turned around and went back over a white road with the wipers pushing the snow off the windscreen. I haven't seen such bad weather this early in the year for years! I decided not to go and walk around on wet fields like I planned but went straight home.

We also got snow last week. Not much more than a thin layer of white on the ground. But it's been around -5 C every morning so it stays there. The problem is it's very slippery underneath that snow and I've strained a muscle (expr?) in my leg as I almost slipped walking my dog.
*grumble, grumble, stupid dog pulling the leash* Anyway, I prefer snow to that dull and grey we had before.
