He didn't touch me. Yet.
But the list of procedures he presented me was scaring (and extremely expensive ) Thursday I'll have my first procedure. Thanks, tsa, for asking

Good luck on your treatments. Be brave! I'll send positive thoughts your way if you do the same for me Dec. 1st when I'll have colonoscopy to find out more why I get these horrible stomach cramps that occur every now and then.

Ask for (and pay for if need be) gas. It so totally makes the procedures less painlful.

And Jelena, poor girl... I don't know what's worse: the craps or the colonoscopy. It's a very unpleasant investigation. I'll send calming and soothing waves your way! |

There's a certain someone who I haven't seen for a few months who I can't stop thinking about today...

Dear Aggie,
On my urging, today my mother and I went to finally see Wall-E before it's no longer at the cinema. And we did not regret it. My mother actually said that she is glad we went to see it. She had no idea what the movie was about, so that's a great compliment to my judgement. ^_^ It really was a great, and very cute movie. Definitely something to buy on DVD next year. (Stop littering, people! ) Also, today was the second time we had snow, and it's still here! It's not too much, but it's still a lot more than we had the previous winter. And it stayed. It's so great. I hope there will be a lot of snow this year. ^_^ -

Glad you like the movie Jaz. I couldn't bring myself to seeing it. I've seen enough Disney movies for a while after Finding Nemo. Not that I think they are bad, but I just have seen enough of them for a while.
But, the reason I came here is that we also got more snow today, look! I took the picture after dark. The reason it's so yellowish is that the snow is illuminated by sodium streetlights. We will have even more snow tomorrow, and we even got the obligatory panicky traffic warning already that we always get when there is a cm of snow on the roads! I love this! |

We had an amoeba's penis-worth of snow which was followed swiftly by an entire day of rain!
It was OK though - because I was happily indoors at a restaurant for a massive extended family meal.

Pajing!
It snows and snows at your place, until your house is totally covered with snow. Luckily you are writing for the NaNoWriMo and don't realize there is snow until most of it is molten. You step into the garden and wonder why the ground is so soggy. |

Today I had the colonoscopy done. The preparations the day and morning before the actual examination were far worse than having a fiber optic camera inside your body.
It was amazing to see inside the colon. And I might add it was clean and shiny as a marble floor. Apparently there was some kind of suspicion I had a polyp in there, but that wasn't the case, lucky me. Now that my doctor has ruled out all other things the conclusion has to be IBS (Irritated bowel syndrome) and it's just something I have to live with and learn to handle which I pretty much already do.

It's good to hear everything turned out (relatively) all right, Jelena.
(I loved the marble floor analogy, by the way!) On a completely separate topic, I dreamed of one of our dear departed AG'ers last night- Seebaruk. In the dream, he called me out of the blue and asked if he could stay with me for a few days while he attended some musical concert being held here. Unfortunately, absolutely nothing went right the whole time he was here: The weather was typical for Birmingham in the summer- spectacularly stifling heat and humidity punctuated by periods of rainfall comparable to pouring water out of a bucket; my apartment's air conditioner dying a noisy and smoky death ten minutes after his arrival; every restaurant we went to was either closed or the food was not only bad but truly inedible; every local club I took him to was populated by the very worst and ugliest Alabama stereotypes and featured bar bands that made both of us pray for deafness; and finally the event he wanted to attend wound up being cancelled at the last minute. I could tell he wasn't having a good time at all, yet I was powerless to improve any aspect of his visit. I awoke this morning feeling simply awful that someone who was a guest of mine should have such a horrible stay. The one and only bright spot is that I did at least maintain a completely peacock-free environment while he was here. Weird, huh?
