I think that A New Beginning is one of the most promising adventure games on the horizon for two reasons: The game is dealing with a very up-to-date subject, everybody is talking about the climate nowadays. Well, at least in Europe they do... I don't know how big that matter is in the US, but due to the fact that Al Gore won the nobel prize it can't be that unimportant there, too. Second, the attempt to make a game completely with "genuine" 2D graphics is admirable. The screenshots look great, I'm very curious how it will look in motion.

Hello everyone, finally someone from Daedalic found the way to the adventuregamer forums. I brought along a not yet seen character from A New Beginning for you, take a look:
Dr. Braun is quite an arrogant show-off. As an international regulatory inspector for Industry & Trade, he does not shy from his responsibilities. Braun likes the professionalism of the neatly suited eloquent and unscrupulous businessman Indez and despises the filthy demonstrants for their stench. While inspecting the Indez power plants he has been served a beautiful first class buffet with voilin accompaniment. Accordingly this report will turn out quite positive. |

Welcome, Olli. Great to have you with us, and even better that you came with a friend. Sounds like a most unpleasant person, and I dislike him already. (In a good way.)
Definitely looking forward to good things from ANB. |

wow, i just read the new article on a new beginning and i'm totally hooked. the story sounds interesting and fresh. and the artwork looks amazing. i'm glad that the developers (like in whispered world) decided to go 2D all the way. i think it will be nice to have well drawn characters instead of poorly modeled ones in a new adventure game.

I agree, I'm really looking forward to this game. I like the subject, the drawings and characters are nice, and an AG on the Wii is already a must buy.
I just hope it won't be as black and white as that stupid 80's children's series Captain Planet, where the evil guys always where animals (pigs, rats, etc) who just wanted to pollute for no apparent reason..

First of all, let me say thank you for all the positive feedback that we received for A New Beginning recently. We are feeling honoured that we hit the Hype-O-Meter with ANB last week.
As a thank you, I brought along a new background from the game – from the sketch to the final painting. In the beginning, there’s only a rough sketch of the new screen. In a second step, the sketch is colorized. The sketches are the draft for the final layout. Finally, the illustrator paints the screenshot on the basis of the layout. Please note that the water is only a placeholder for the final water animation that will be implemented later. |

Thank you, Olli - every new post of yours make me more excited about A New Beginning!
The visual arts are stunning, and concerning Dr. Braun I'll join Jackal saying that I really dislike his person (although: nice outfit )

I'm digging the gold top dome in the background, very much like Riven.
