Full Void: Dystopian Puzzle-Platform Adventure Lands on Consoles

Full Void, the latest game from London-based indie developer OutOfTheBit, is now launching on Xbox and Nintendo Switch with a 20% discount for the launch period. Having already seen a successful debut on PC, Full Void is a pixel-art cinematic puzzle-platforming adventure set in a dystopian future. Players will have to contend with puzzles, obstacles, and an oppressive AI as they uncover the story of a desolate society where children are the only ones still free.

The game is already available on Steam and comes with a new trailer:

The game's narrative revolves around a young teenager navigating through a hellish landscape dominated by AI. Gamers will be challenged as they traverse beautifully hand-drawn pixel environments, experience classic cinematic puzzle-platform gameplay with a modern twist, and discover innovative visual mechanics.

Full Void draws heavily from classic 90’s era cinematic platformers like Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee, Heart Of Darkness and Prince Of Persia. Despite being entirely 2D pixel art, the game gives the impression of a 3D world with depth and the possibility of movement that sometimes exceeds the confines of sideways scrolling. Every scene is custom-built, featuring hand-crafted composition, animation, and perspective. The OutOfTheBit team has created a puzzle platformer that, while set in a horror and thrilling atmosphere, contains no gore or explicit violence, making it suitable for all ages.

In the words of Ali Motisi, Lead Developer, Founder, and Director of OutOfTheBit, “With Full Void we wanted to tell a story and also convey a feeling to the player. It’s the feeling of helplessness and isolation many of us felt during the lockdowns of 2020 and 2021, and we tell this entire story without the use of words, except for a line of text on the very last screen of the game.” The game's artistic value has not gone unnoticed, as it recently received double nominations for the Indie Cup UK ‘23 in the categories “Rising Star” and “Critics’ choice”.
