First details pitch upcoming Puzzles for Clef
A real-life treasure hunt probably sounds like a great birthday challenge for any adventure gamer, and while indie Ukrainian developer Weasel Token can't offer us all that, they are offering the next best thing in the upcoming side-scroller Puzzles for Clef.
Clef is a curious young bunny who receives a map and special birthday invitation from her sister to visit the magical floating island of their ancestors to "undertake a treasure hunt." During her expedition, Clef must "take on quests from enigmatic characters and solve intricate puzzles while unraveling countless mysteries hidden throughout the island." Along the way, she will also need to "collect energy crystals ... to aid in the restoration of the bell shrines" scattered around the nine different regions, which in turn will help in "restoring peace and serenity to the lands below."
This "cozy, peaceful, low-stress" narrative puzzle platformer will take its young heroine through lovely hand-drawn landscapes, from a "serene bamboo forest to an opulent floating castle," as well as "clock towers, crystal mines, and other whimsical environments." Each region has "its own distinct feel and secrets to discover," and is populated by a variety of other creatures, some of which live there while others are on their own "personal quests they can share with Clef." There is no fear of danger, just "dozens of puzzles and ciphers" needing to be solved at your leisure in this "story of sisterly love – and something more, if you are willing to dig deeper."
There is no target release date just yet, but Puzzles for Clef is on track to be launched on Steam for Windows PC sometime in the third quarter of 2022.
