Dreamed Away: A pixel art adventure awaits

The indie action-adventure RPG Dreamed Away is set to launch a Kickstarter campaign on February 1st, 2024. The game, from French developer Nicolas Petton and Polish indie game publisher Pineapple Works, is seeking crowdfunding to support its development. Dreamed Away is a pixel art RPG inspired by games like Earthbound and Omori and is set in 90s France. The game is expected to be published on PC, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One & Series S/X in Q1 2025 by Pineapple Works.

Dreamed Away immerses players in the role of a young boy, Théo, who finds himself in a dark and mysterious world that resembles a dream. Théo awakens in his bedroom on a rainy summer night to find his family missing and his world transformed. The game features an aesthetic pixel art style, immersive storytelling, a fast-paced combat system, unique abilities and equipment and psychological horror elements. The game's soundtrack is an original score by Nicolas Petton.

A free demo of Dreamed Away is currently available on the game’s Steam page. Nicolas Petton, the game's creator and director, is involved in every aspect of the game's development, from writing and pixel art to music, sound effects and programming. He created Dreamed Away to tell a deeply personal and emotional story. Pineapple Works, the game's publisher, is a Polish company that specializes in indie games of various genres and styles. They have previously released games such as Of Blades & Tails, Charge Kid, Death and Taxes, DREAMO, and Legends of Amberland.
