30 Birds: A Persian-Inspired Gaming Adventure
ARTE, the public European cultural television channel and digital network, in partnership with RAM RAM Games and Business Goose studios, has unveiled its latest video game offering, 30 Birds. The game promises to deliver a unique blend of 2D and 3D perspectives within rotating lanterns, set against a vibrant universe inspired by Persian miniatures.
In 30 Birds, players will assume the role of Zig, tasked with exploring Lantern City to rescue the Goddess Simurgh, creator of the Lanterns, following her sudden kidnapping. To accomplish this, they must first gather her thirty birds, which are scattered throughout the many hidden corners of the lanterns. The game includes a variety of missions, interactions with eccentric characters, and opportunities to play various musical instruments, all set in hand-drawn decors reminiscent of beautiful landscapes inspired by Persian miniatures. 30 Birds intertwines modern writing with ancient tales, infused with humor, poetry, and unexpected electro ska rhythms sprinkled with Middle-Eastern quirks. 30 Birds will be available in 2024, but for eager fans, a demo of the game is currently available for download on Steam.
