Text Adventure Playthrough #2: Spider And Web
>read black plates
>open cabinet drawers
> read journals
So we can use that scrambler only once, yet we know what’s in three different rooms that need the scrambler to get in?
I’m thinking we’ll probably have to choose only one to continue the story. The objective seemed to be find the lockpick but doesn’t seem to be anywhere.
>read black plates
Each cabinet drawer has a tiny, rectangular black plate embedded in its front.
>open cabinet drawers
You pull on a few of the handles, but all the drawers seem to be locked.
>read journals
You don’t have time to browse.
i think Timovieman may have hit the jackpot, so I checked the previous pages for italics. BINGO!
>touch plate with lockpick
The metal door to the north isn’t important.

Which was in contradiction to what the interrogator said about the wiring closet before he kills us.

Let’s pay close attention to anything in italics.

I’m not so sure we found the lockpick here. We know we took the pen, that’s all.

Or to anything we did that results in the interrogator killing us, imo.

And the pen is a Bond-needle, so maybe we should do something with that?
Can we stab ourselves with it? Or use it on the ceiling scan-web? Or anything?
And would you be so kind as to update the map for this part? Please?

Maybe this time I can be strong, but since I know who I am, I’m probably wrong. Maybe this time I can go far, but thinking about where I’ve been ain’t helping me start. - Michael Kiwanuka

Mmm, the response to open the package is also in talic I think.
What does it mean!!!
This room doesn’t seem to have much else. What about going back to the pen?

No good - going through the scan-web breaks the scan-scrambler.
>stab scan-web with pen
The sliver of crystal breaks off against the body-scan web and is lost.

[Previous turn undone.]
>stab self with pen
The indigo needle slices through your skin as if through water. The prick is trivial; but then icy cold races up your nerves, followed by numbness, and the world folds away into chill dark.

Interrogation Chamber (imprisoned in the chair)
You blink away memory. The dim room comes again into focus, and the man behind the desk.
“And there we found you, lying helpless, several hours later.” He shakes his head. “Not a very exciting ending to your tale. I found the truth of it much more dramatic.”

You remain silent.
“Ah, not responsive even as an art critic? Ah well.”

Security Annex
This is the end of a short hallway, which runs southwest back to the main corridor. Three large doorways open to the north, east, and south.
Ok, forget it, the pen has a paralizing drug? Doesn’t seem very useful for now.
Maybe the objective is just get the pen and leave sw?
And how do you propose to get out of the storage room without setting off the alarm?
Yeah, can we fiddle with our equipment to get the scrambler working properly or something? I’m utterly useless with technical stuff, so I’ll leave you guys to it. This usually the part where I start looking for a walkthrough…

Our engineer Abnaxus has conveniently taken a leave of absence.
I really doubt the solution is technical. It’s probably very simple, something we are overlooking.
Btw, what happens if we go directly to the sw? (maybe we’ve seen it already and I’ve lost it)

There’s something to this.
What do we have again? A pushbutton, a toggle switch, a timer and a voice module?
What happens when we activate the scrambler with a different part?

(again, but I don’t feel like reading 18 pages again to find the previous time we tried this)
Edit: it’s here!

Angle Branch
The corridor runs north and south, like every other hallway in this place. A short hallway branches off to the northeast. To the west is a blank metal door, with attendant black plate beside it.

“Are you saying you left without this?” The man produces a pen, the one you saw in the storage room, and holds it up for your inspection.
> yes
Annoy the crap out of him.
