In Road to India - Between Hell and Nirvana (2001) you play in 1st person perspective as young American Fred Reynolds who flies to New Delhi to find out why his fiancé Anusha, visiting family there, suddenly wants nothing more to do with him.

I found the story compelling from the beginning with the fairly easy puzzles helping to keep immersion, & the conclusion was completely unexpected in a good way! An interesting aspect was the weaving of game play in the real world with Fred’s dream sequences distinguished by the misty borders on-screen.

Amazingly the Sold Out version of the game I played many years ago installed & plays perfectly on my Win 7 64 Bit system!

Playing this game was what made seeing the Taj Mahal high on my bucket list. My favorite part, I confess, was the ruinous action while riding the elephant.

I have the Microids version. It’s good to know there’s a chance it’ll play on Win 7 64-bit.
