The floppy version of GK 1 doesn’t have voices, the CD version has Tim Curry & the gang voicing characters.

You should definitely consider playing through again with voices, because tim curry, mark hamil and co., do a pretty awesome job.

I really loved the voiced version, especially the cajun narrator.

My wife still makes fun of the narrator saying “Gaaabriel” since she was sitting in the room during one of my play throughs one time.  I’ve switched to headphones now.

She took a little time getting used to, but I ended up liking her aswell. I also had some initial trouble with Tim Curry’s southern accent (and I’m a sworn Tim Curry fan). As much as I love Tim Curry, I found his contribution to GK1 to be maybe the least impressive performance he’s done in an adventure game, though I can’t really explain why. But I did enjoy the section where he goes Irish. Mark Hamill is awesome as allways though.

Anyway, I don’t know if I recommend the GoG-version, it’s more bug-ridden than an anthill (among many other things, the menu icon tends to grey itself out, making it impossible to save after it’s occurred. People have complained about this in the GoG forum since 2010, but GoG has yet to adress the issue).

Duckman: Who cares? Nobody parks there anyway, except for the people who are supposed to park there and, hell, I can outrun them anytime.

She was nice, the cajun narrator. Do yourself a favour Advie, and find yourself a talkie version of GK1 that works. You will be amazed.

I can’t imagine playing Sins of the Fathers without the voice narration. She really defined the game’s atmosphere for me.

Remaking flawed games

Did god really heard my wishes i had exactly 1 month ago? Grin

@Iznogood and Monolith yes i agree its strange but for me is the other way around and that is not for GK1 only;
Day of the tentacle,Simon 1 and 2 and Loom
ALL played long ago without Voice acting and knew about the talkies versions within the last year ... i never thought that they existed

Now i am Playing GK1 and feels good to have something from Sierra that seems like i am play ing for the 1st time… Yaaayy!!
