Adventure Game Scene of the Day - Tuesday, 1 September
Hybrid?! Is this a joke?! Sure, but still a good damn reason to mention once again this great game.
Ain’t it funny, if someone asked you what Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis is all about, and you say: you need to fist-fight your way through, you also need to ride a balloon in an action sequence, involve yourself in a car chase, steer a submarine, overcome some timed-puzzles and be careful because you can die in the game… you would still be describing one of the best classic adventure games ever made.
Recently finished: Four Last Things 4/5, Edna & Harvey: The Breakout 5/5, Chains of Satinav 3,95/5, A Vampyre Story 88, Sam Peters 3/5, Broken Sword 1 4,5/5, Broken Sword 2 4,3/5, Broken Sword 3 85, Broken Sword 5 81, Gray Matter 4/5\nCurrently playing: Broken Sword 4, Keepsake (Let\‘s Play), Callahan\‘s Crosstime Saloon (post-Community Playthrough)\nLooking forward to: A Playwright’s Tale
I have never really thought of this as a hybrid action / adventure game - But now that you mention it, then I guess that you are right.
It doesn’t detract from the game however, and personally I have never had a problem with a bit of action in AG, at least not as long as it is well executed (and is NOT mind boggling stupid QTE)
You have to play the game, to find out why you are playing the game! - eXistenZ
I’ve never played this but your description makes it sound like a really, really good game. I think I’ll add it to my list!
Ah, the game that made me fall in love with the genre.
Still one of the best games ever made.
And the action is mostly optional or can be circumvented, with relatively few exceptions (even on the “action” path).
The truth can’t hurt you, it’s just like the dark: it scares you witless but in time you see things clear and stark. - Elvis Costello
Maybe this time I can be strong, but since I know who I am, I’m probably wrong. Maybe this time I can go far, but thinking about where I’ve been ain’t helping me start. - Michael Kiwanuka
I loved this game but had a hard time getting the submarine in the port. The first time I played it, I had my hubby do it for me and every time after that, I was unable to do it. Is there a way to not do that part? I have it on my computer now and would like to play it again, but, dread that submarine sequence.

Controlling the submarine only happens on the Team path. Just try one of the other two paths for a change! (You’ll get to visit Thera, which is skipped on the Team path.)
(Also, I’m sure if you post a save on the forums, someone will be willing to do it for you. It only takes a minute.)
I loved this game. Obviously, like everybody else. Honestly how could you not love it? It is impossible. One of the best classic games of all time.

Really?
It is a stunning classic. You should definitely play it.

Little action for me, I tried to take the puzzle route when I could. Salaam effendi. (He says that in the gaaaame.)
