Full Throttle nostalgia
Anyway, I’ve had mixed luck running games on ScummVM, except for those that I’ve purchased at GOG. Plus, I’ve got about 12 other games to play first!
ScummVM was basically invented so it could play LucasArts games. You’re more than safe that Full Throttle will work 100% in it.
Recently finished: Four Last Things 4/5, Edna & Harvey: The Breakout 5/5, Chains of Satinav 3,95/5, A Vampyre Story 88, Sam Peters 3/5, Broken Sword 1 4,5/5, Broken Sword 2 4,3/5, Broken Sword 3 85, Broken Sword 5 81, Gray Matter 4/5\nCurrently playing: Broken Sword 4, Keepsake (Let\‘s Play), Callahan\‘s Crosstime Saloon (post-Community Playthrough)\nLooking forward to: A Playwright’s Tale
Nostalgia is the only thing that explains to me why Full Throttle is so popular. It has poor puzzles, weak plot, boring characters and is less entertaining than any other Lucasarts game I’ve played. I can understand the nostalgia - I have nostalgia for crap games from 20 years ago as well. Maybe it’s because I only played FT 5 years ago I can see it for what it is.

agreed. I dont really understand the fullthrottle love either. Its a decent game… an interesting curiosity for a few reasons.. but it felt too…disney-ish to me.. and its short.. and its mechanics/puzzles are so-so. If this game was released alongside broken age, full throttle would get eaten alive by the critics.
I loved the voices and the soundtrack etc, but always thought the game was too short.
The motorbike fights were basically a 3d version of the insult swordfish ting from MI, so I never thought of them as action.
As for playing it , wait a few months I have a sneaky suspicion that e3 will see a remastered version be announced.
An adventure game is nothing more than a good story set with engaging puzzles that fit seamlessly in with the story and the characters, and looks and sounds beautiful.
Roberta Williams
I`m replaying it right now and the cool thing is that I had forgotten the story takes place in some kind of dystopian future.
Full Throttle is the Mad Max of adventure games
It has poor puzzles, weak plot, boring characters
Refined by your own personal taste, which has nothing to do with Full Throttle’s great puzzles, solid plot and unique characters
Unique? Ben’s character is pretty much “motorbikes n rock and roll! Hell yeah!” which is also basically the whole idea behind the game.
As far adventure games go, Ben is pretty much one of a kind. I can’t remember any othet adventure game that revolves around gang of bikers.
Full Throttle is just lovely, brisk storytelling of the highest order. Seriously underrated in how effective it is in telling its story.
I can’t think of an adventure game that does a better job of it actually. Quite seriously.
Plus it just oozes coolness from every frame. That opening cutscene with that music…freaking awesome.
tomint and A.A are spot on, attitude and Bikers are key to stand this game out of other conventional settings and to top if off its an AG with good puzzles, new innovations like bike fights, and the final boss fight was amazing.
Ben was memorable, it was one of the few Adv games that have aged really well.
RIP Ripburger.
